2023 Emerging Markets Public Policy Fellowship Pilot Program

The Emerging Markets Public Policy Fellowship is part of a global Google Public Policy Fellowship. This program aims to boost the government affairs and public policy careers of talented students coming from groups historically underrepresented in the tech industry, including first generation students. The program is funded by Google.

In 2023, Google is expanding the program to Emerging Markets through a pilot launch in Egypt, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. Fellows will spend a week at a Google office in Egypt, Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi or Tel-Aviv, followed by an internship for up to eight weeks with one of Google’s partner consultancies.

Below is the program tentative timeline:

  • May - June / Candidate selection by partner organizations
  • 10 July - 15 July / Google experience week (hybrid)
  • June - September / Summer internship with partner agencies (in-person)
  • September [tbd] / Final presentation & graduation
