Northeast of Kelowna and southeast of Revelstoke, the Revelstoke Mountain Resort is a big mountain freeriding mecca with the largest vertical in North America. It has 65 runs spread over 3,121 acres that are served by 3 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 5,620 feet. The Revelstoke Mountain Resort (formerly Powder Springs ski area) is located in the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains and has four high alpine bowls set along Mount Mackenzie. The resort is served mainly by a 8 passenger high speed gondola and two high speed quads.

This challenging area has 45% difficult black runs and 45% intermediate blue runs, with the longest run being over 8 miles long. Make sure to try the Kill The Banker run with 3,500 feet of vertical descent. Or, you can rip it up through the Revelstoke Mountain Resort's renowned gladed terrain, such as Conifers Of Gnaria Glades.

The Revelstock Mountain Resort also owns the onsite Revelstoke Cat Skiing and the Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing. Some of the Cat Skiing terrain is accessible from the mountain such as South Kokanee Bowl and Montana Bowl (hint, hint).

To reach the snowboarding at Revelstoke Mountain Resort from the TransCanada Highway, take the first exit into Revelstoke, if travelling from the East, or the 2nd exit if travelling from the West. Turn left onto 4th street. Turn left onto Nichol Road. Turn right onto Camozzi Road. Turn left on the Revelstoke Mountain Resort ski hill road (follow the directional signs).

If already in downtown Revelstoke, travel west on Victoria road. Turn left onto 4th street. Turn left onto Nichol Road. Turn right onto Camozzi Road. Turn left on the Revelstoke Mountain Resort ski hill road (follow the directional signs).

If you plan to fly, the nearest airport is Kelowna International about 2 hours away. There is a bus, Revelstoke Connection.

Tip: This is not a place to come if you are looking for rowdy apres ski or nightlife. But, you can try the River City Pub, The Village Idiot Bar, Traverse Pub at the Regent Hotel or the Outabounds nightclub.
