Oct. 14, 2003: Matt Ouimet is named the president of the Disneyland Resort.

Oct. 14, 2010: Duffy the Disney Bear, a popular theme park character in Japan, debuts at Disney California Adventure. In Japan, Duffy, who is Mickey Mouse’s toy bear, rivals his owner as the most popular Disney character. Visitors line up for hours to meet Duffy at the Tokyo DisneySea park and see a Duffy stage show. Fans take their stuffed bears on their travels, much like the Flat Stanley book character. Special clothing is sold for Duffy.

Oct. 15, 1996: The Main Street Electrical Parade has its final parade in Disneyland, according to This Day in Disney History website.
