Another move before the deadline

The Angels continue to make moves ahead of Monday’s trade deadline, as they’ve traded catcher Jason Castro to the San Diego Padres.

Castro has appeared in 18 games for the Angels this season. He’s hitting .192/.323/.385/.707 with two homers and six runs driven in. This was his first season in Anaheim after spending three seasons with the Twins.

In the deal, the Angels acquire reliever Gerardo Reyes. He hasn’t appeared in a game for San Diego in 2020 after appearing in 27 last season. In his rookie campaign in 2019, Reyes owned a 7.62 ERA. However, if you’re looking for positives, his WHIP was 1.34 and he had a FIP of 3.41, two very low numbers considering where his ERA was at. The right-hander is 27 years old.
