We’ve been hearing a lot about NEW TV and movies at D23 Expo!
We’ve seen a brand-new trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, we know the release date for National Treasure: Edge of History, and we saw a new trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3! Now we have news about a new animated series from Disney.
Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced that a new series — Duffy and Friends — will be coming to Disney+. There will be six episodes of this stop-motion series and it will premiere on Disney’s streaming service sometime next year!
If you’re not familiar with Duffy, he is Mickey’s very own teddy bear. Minnie made Duffy for Mickey Mouse as a gift to keep him company on his travels. She gave the bear to Mickey inside a duffel bag — thus the name “Duffy.”
Duffy’s group of friends includes his bestie ShellieMay, Gelatoni the cat, StellaLou the rabbit, CookieAnn the dog, ‘Olu Mel the turtle, and his newest friend – LinaBell the fox.

Duffy has not been seen much at Disney World or Disneyland in the past few years, but he and his friends appear on merchandise and in parades at Disney Parks around the world!
