I believe that the 2nd Gen Apple AirPods are the best overall pick for consumers looking for Bluetooth earbuds for their Apple product. I will die on this hill saying it’s the most versatile, comfortable, maybe not the best sound but the range is phenomenal. The battery life, depending on how often you’re using them, can last up to 72 hours. I love the charging case design it’s compact and somehow durable even though it feels like a thin plastic. I would’ve loved these same designs just upgraded performance instead of the 3rd gen. I hope the 4th gen AirPods end up feeling and have the quality and longevity of these 2nd gen models. Easy to connect and save onto your device, depending on your smart tv you can even connect them for movies or games on the late night hours when everyone else is sleeping. I hope noise- cancelling features go into the 4th gen model. I love these earbuds. My one and biggest complaint is the upkeep on the case, in my experience, it is almost impossible to keep the crevices clean they get dirt or lint that is impossible to get out. They’re might be hacks online to clean the cases but I haven’t really found any that work. On the other hand, the durability of the earbuds themselves are amazing I have accidentally washed them loose in my pockets on numerous occasions, but after the drying cycle they still work great. Maybe not after the 3rd or 5th time I’ve done it but for being the size they are the durability is astounding. I hope to be getting another pair soon as my current ones are a few years old now. But as an overall rating, I’d give them a 4.77/5 because the case is just hard to clean and there are obvious speaker issues that come into play every once in a while.

I physically own the Airpods and have had them since release.

They are superb piece of technology. I have been using bluetooth headphones for last 3–4 years now for both my iphone and macbooks at home and work. Its always been a pain to disconnect the blueooth and reconnect on another device. This is one area Apple has so successfully managed to crack with the W1 Chip in the Airpods.

The amount of technology you receive in the Airpods is phenomenal! Just check a youtube video of a breakdown of the Airpods you will be Shocked as to how much apple has literally squashed into the Airpod.

The bluetooth range on these are so much better then general bluetooth headphones that i have tried! I also own Bragi’s Dash headphones, and they pale in comparison.

The sound quality is top notch, it has been highly improved on since the EarPods that apple give free with all iPhones. Sound is much clearer, better base, and now im hearing instruments that i couldn't hear before with my other bluetooth headsets.

Ease of use and pairing, i will say once again is the true winner here. I listen to my iPhone on the way to work with both Airpods in. When i reach my macbook at work, i simply remove one Airpod from my ear so that i can listen around me, and connect the other one in my ear to my macbook. Its so convenient. Before i had to have the other side dangling down my back or front, and the wire was always getting in the way.

The battery life is phenomenal, 5 hours on a single charge, 24 hours in the case and you can do a quick charge in a few minutes to listen again for over an hour.

The Airpods are a solid fit! They will not fall out while walking, running, jumping etc…. The only way for them to fall out is if someone brushed something against them to knock them out of your ear.

The only few negatives i can think of and requirements for future improvements is having noise cancellation (although it does a good job already for blocking out noise, its still not noise cancelling at the moment). And proper gesture controls on the airpod for changing volume and changing tracks. Ideally also loosing the antenna tail would definitely help with improving the design also. Although in person they look great and not as bad as when i first saw them release at WWDC on tv.
