Tranquille Sanatorium opened in 1907 at the Fortune Ranch northwest of Kamloops as a sanatorium for people suffering from tuberculosis. It was originally named the King Edward Memorial Sanatorium and was operated by the Anti-Tuberculosis Society of British Columbia until 1921.
