Oechsle Assistant Examiner-Arnold W. Kramer ABSTRACT: An outdoor gym for children employing swings, slides and the like wherein adjustable water sprays are disposed over each individual element.
OUTDOOR GYM SET WITH PLURAL WATER SPRAY HEADS SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of my invention;
FIG. 2 is a detail view of a typical spray head;
FIG. 3 is a detail view ofa typical valve;
FIG. 4 is a detail view of the hose feed connection; and FIG. 5 is a detail view of the water line connection.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS. l-5, a gym has A-frame supports disposed vertically and supporting an elevated horizontal hollow bar 12 from which swings l4, seesaw l6, slide 18 and the like are supported. One of the vertically inclined members 20 of the A-frame is hollow and has a water inlet connection 22 adapted to be connected to a water supply hose 24. Connection 22 is disposed a few inches above ground level and the portion of the member below the connection is filled with lead or is otherwise plugged to avoid water leakage.
The hollow interior of member 20 is connected to a main feed line 26 in bar 12 whereby water flows therethrough. A separate sprinkleror spray head 28 which can be manually screwed in or out to regulate the fineness or coarseness of the spray (or can be manually replaced with a different head) is associated with a separate gate valve 30 (manually controlled between full on to full off in any desired intermediate position) and disposed over each gym element such as swing or slide. The valve is connected in series with the head and each combination of valve and head is separately connected to the main *feed line by a separate connection 32 whereby each spray can be controlled independently of all other sprays.
The seats hand grips and the like should be of nonskid material for safety reasons. Trip levers can be installed for the spray heads over the swings whereby these heads will operate only when the swing is in a predetermined position of arc.
Thus, my invention combines the best of the basic summer activities of children such as swinging and playing in water, running under sprinklers and the like- My invention can also be in kit form to enable an owner of an existing gym to install hose, connectors, spray heads, valves and the like and thus obtain the benefits of my aqua gym.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
I claim:
I. An aqua gym comprising:
an elevated horizontal bar;
a plurality of gym elements such as swings, slide and the like disposed below said bar;
a like plurality of water spray heads, each head being secured to said bar and disposed above the corresponding element;
a like plurality of valve means, each means being associated with a corresponding head; and
means to supply water through each of said means to each of said sprays.
2. A gym as set forth in claim 1 wherein said means for supplying water includes a main feed line and a like plurality of water feed connections connected to said line, each connection supplying water to a corresponding head-valve means combination.
3. A gym as set forth in claim 2 wherein each valve means is connected in series with its corresponding head.
4. A gym as set forth in claim 3 wherein said supply means is disposed in said bar.
