With the above and related objects in view, my invention consists in the details of construction and combination of parts, as will be more opening all the way by the projection ltof the block A. If the jaw were allowed to open all the way, there would be a tendency for it to catch on bumps and projections resulting in spills and tumbles to the child.

Referring now in detail to the drawing, I show a particular embodiment of my invention consisting of a foot accommodating block, generally designated as A, an adjustable holding strap, generally designated as B, and a horses head forming a part of the block, generally designated as C.

The foot accommodating block A is of a generally rectangular shape and may be made of any suitable material such as wood, plastic, or metal. The block A is provided with a heel rest In and a sole rest [2 for the foot of a child. The heel rest [0 and the sole rest l2 are substantially parallel to the base of the block A. The front portion of the block A is formed into the head of a horse C. The horses head C is provided with a pair of eyes, a pair of ears (which may be a part of the block A or may be made of a suitable The strap B is attached to the block A in a substantially central position so the child can hold the block A to its foot by pulling on the strap 13.

The toy may be used either singly or in pairs. The toy is utilized by the child by putting its foot on the rests i9 and I2 of the block A and then walking around while holding the strap 13 taut, which holds the block A to the foot of the child. When the block A strikes the ground,.the hinged jaw It is pushed against the block A making a noise in time with the walking oi the child. By utilizing a pair of blocks A simultaneously, it can be readily seen, that a child can draw on his imagination and picture himself as a cowboy, circus rider, etc., the blocks A passing for stirrups andthe straps B for reins, while the noise accompanying the childs walking would, of course, be the hoof-beats of the steed.

Although my invention has been described in considerable detail,such description is intended as merely illustrative, rather than limiting, since the invention may be variously embodied, and the scope of the invention is to be determined as claimed.

I claim as my invention:

1. A toy comprising a foot retaining block consisting of a heel rest and a sole rest substantially parallel with the base of said block, said block having a figure formed thereon; a movable member adapted to abut against said sole rest in order to provide a noise maker when the toy is raised from and lowered upon the floor; and an adjustable strap centrally attached to said block to hold the foot of the wearer against the said heel rest and the said sole rest of the said block. I

2. A toy comprising a hollow head simulating a horses head for receiving and encircling the toes of the user, a heel rest integrally formed with said hollowhead to support the heel of the user, and a strap having its ends aflixed to substantially the central portion of said combined head and said heel rest for holding said toy to member adapted to fit beneath said block and to slam against said block, and means to limit the movement of said pivoted member.
