You say tomato, I say kumato. Mastronardi Produce grows more than a dozen varieties of specialty tomatoes, including the sweet brown-skinned kumato, under the SUNSET brand. It also grows cucumbers, baby eggplant, peppers, and strawberries, and some varieties are also organically grown. Mastronardi's produce is grown in greenhouses year-round. The company maintains more than 1,400 acres of greenhouses in Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and the US. Mastronardi Produce also has its own microbiology laboratory and food safety program, and all of its crops are non-GMO. The company began growing vegetables in the 1920s and remains owned by the Mastronardi family.
