Swiss football star divorces his wife after she declares 'footballers are not great lovers, they prefer to do it themselves' during reality TV show

A Swiss footballer is divorcing his beautiful wife after she said players are not great lovers. 

Bologna midfielder Blerim Dzemaili, 31, has also instructed his lawyers to apply for custody of his child after his wife, Erjona Sulejmani, made embarrassing revelations about him on Italian reality TV show Le Capitaine (The Captain).

The show features the glamorous WAGs of some of Italy's top players, but it has now apparently cost popular participant Sulejmani her marriage. 

The killer question came when she was quizzed about her husband's sex life before matches.   

Albanian model Sulejmani, 30, said: 'Sex before matches? Footballers are not great lovers.

'They prefer to do it themselves.' 

Those cutting words have made headlines around the world - and outraged her Swiss international star hubby, who is playing on loan in Canada for Montreal Impact.

In fact, he has already asked his lawyer, Daniela Missaglia, to serve his intention to divorce, for custody of their son and for his wife to stop using his surname, according to local media. 

Dzemaili has previously played for Bolton and Zurich but enjoyed his best years in Italy. 

He has played for Torino, Parma, Napoli and Genoa.  

Sulejmani attracted a great deal of attention when cheering her husband on at the 2016 Euros. 

She was selected as the supporter of the year by Italian GQ magazine.
