When someone signs up for a reality competition show, they can probably guess that the only thing nastier than their fellow contestants will be the judges. For competition hosts like Simon Cowell, Gordon Ramsey, and, ahem, Donald Trump, getting nasty with participants and saying outlandish things is how they pull in the big ratings. One woman thinks America's Got Talent judge Tyra Banks went too far though — and now she's suing.

A woman known only as Jane Doe, on behalf of her daughter Mary Doe, has filed against the production company behind AGT on four counts: intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, civil battery, and civil assault.

In the suit, Jane explains that she and her husband auditioned several times for AGT's cameras, and unbeknownst to them, producers were instructing Mary to act embarrassed by her parents' musical act. In one moment, she alleges, Tyra Banks "physically manipulated" Mary by shaking her and pulling on her hair.

Jane now says that her daughter is "traumatized" and "deeply depressed," and becomes "extremely nervous and anxious" around triggers of her parents' music.

The suit aims for a jury trial and seems to have the ultimate goal of keeping the footage of their performance off the air.

Banks has yet to comment on the suit.
