A rock the size of a basketball killed a 75-year-old school bus driver on the weekend when it was dropped from a freeway overpass and smashed through his windshield.

Edmonton police Detective Ernie Schreiber says Robert Arthur Stanley managed to pull over and park the bus.

He was found by a passing police officer who tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead at hospital.

Police believe one or more people deliberately dropped the rock into the path of the bus. CP
