Sportsnet 590 The FAN announces new revamped schedule

With the NHL season about to begin, the NBA champion Toronto Raptors returning to the court and post-season baseball just around the corner, Sportsnet 590 The FAN in Toronto is unveiling its new lineup of hosts and shows to cover all of the biggest stories in sports.

The new lineup sees the return of Tim & Sid to radio with a multi-platform version of their hit TV show, featuring guests from all corners of the sports world giving their opinions and sparking debates.

“We are giving listeners a fresh perspective with the most talented and knowledgeable sports personalities in the country,” said Dave Cadeau, program director for Sportsnet 590 The FAN in a statement. “Every show offers a different flavour but there’s one thing they have in common – they are going to bring insight and opinions that ignite the passion of Toronto sports fans.”

Here is the new look of the Sportsnet 590 The FAN lineup, which launches on Sept. 30. Tim & Sid, as well as the new afternoon show with Jeff Blair, Stephen Brunt and Richard Deitsch, will launch two weeks later on Oct. 14. The names of the new shows will be announced next week.

5:30 to 6 a.m. ET

In addition to providing regular updates during the morning drive, Hugh Burrill now also hosts a new sports update show that brings listeners up-to-speed on everything they missed from the previous night’s action.

6 to 9 a.m. ET

Scott MacArthur moves from hosting Blue Jays Talk to team up with Ashley Docking and former NHLer Mike Zigomanis as co-hosts of the morning show. With engaging sports conversation, enthusiastic debate, and wide-ranging opinions, this group will put a jump in the step of morning commuters around Toronto.

9 a.m. to Noon ET

Good Show with Ben Ennis and JD Bunkis moves from the 1 p.m. ET timeslot to give listeners the mid-morning sports pick-me-up they crave. Known for their fearless and unique opinions on sports, pop culture and life in Toronto, they will host a wide variety of interesting guests and have a ton of fun along the way.

Noon to 2 p.m. ET

Now a full two hours, Hockey Central is can’t-miss radio for hockey fans. Hosts Jeff Marek (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and David Amber (Wednesday) are joined by former NHLer Anthony Stewart as they break down all the stories from around the NHL.

2 to 5 p.m. ET

Three of the country’s most respected sports journalists and radio voices — Jeff Blair, Stephen Brunt and Richard Deitsch — continue to dig beyond the scores and get to the heart of the major issues in sports with insightful opinions and thought-provoking interviews with some of the biggest news makers.

5 to 7 p.m. ET

Tim & Sid are back on radio where it all started at Sportsnet. Fans can now listen and watch the hit show across all platforms with Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro on Sportsnet 590 The FAN, Sportsnet and Sportsnet NOW as they interview the biggest names in sports and break down news from around the sports world.
