There's A Class-Action Lawsuit Against Red Bull In Canada & You Can Claim Money

That's $10 more than you have right now!
Contributor

Recently, a class-action lawsuit brought against Apple was good news for Quebeckers who found out that they could receive up to $ 300 in financial compensation. Well, today, we've learned about another class-action suit and this time all Canadians can claim a piece of the pie. That's right, Narcity has learned exclusively that the collective action against Red Bull has just been settled and you can register now to receive a small amount of the damages.

The legal proceedings for this case against Red Bull began in 2017. This class action alleges that Red Bull has misrepresented and failed to inform consumers of the "dangers inherent in the ingestion of Red Bull. " However, a decision was just reached on July 23, forcing Red Bull to compensate Canadian consumers. The lawyer in charge of the case, Joey Zukran, from LPC Avocats, told Narcity that people can now apply online to claim their compensation.

You might be wondering just how much money you could walk away with. While the ruling, in this case, states that all "Canadian residents who purchased or consumed Red Bull energy drinks in Canada between Jan. 1, 2007 and July 23, 2019 could be eligible for up to $10.00."

Arguably $10 isn't a whole lot of money, but hey, it's $10 more than you have right now!

If you are a regular Red Bull drinker or even if you only drank it once during that time frame and want to claim your share of this settlement, you have until 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 14, 2019 to submit your application online, which consists of sending your email address to the claims administrator.

Zukran also tells Narcity that when all the claim applications have been received, the case will go back to the Superior Court of Quebec on Dec. 17, 2019. There they will have the approval of the settlement hearing. After that, a notice will be sent out informing people to complete the claim form in order to receive their compensation.

If you are planning to apply for a claim, note that no proof of purchase is required, however, you will have to provide a date and an approximate place where you could have gotten Red Bull during that time frame.

Also, the claims are limited to one per person, so even if you drink Red Bull every day, you won't be receiving a fortune, just $10 like everyone else. But again, money is money!

To apply for a claim in this class-action lawsuit, Canadians can submit their email address here
