• A source confirms to BAZAAR.com that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will make their joint debut in the royal family's annual Christmas Day march.
  • Prince William and Duchess Kate, along with the queen, have decided the two children are old enough to take part in the royal tradition this year.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are away on a lengthy break from royal appearances, we can expect two adorable faces to take their place at the royal family’s annual Christmas march next week.

A source confirms to BAZAAR.com, “It’s likely that Charlotte and George will join William and Kate for the walk to church on Christmas Day.”

The public walk to Christmas church service in Norfolk is a renowned and adored royal tradition. (Meghan Markle, for example, joined for the first time in December 2017.) The big entrance usually takes place outside of St. Mary Magdalene Church, which isn't too far from the queen's country home, Sandringham House, where she spends the holidays.

If Charlotte, age four, and George, age six, do end up partaking in the march, it would be their joint debut in the highly publicized walk. Prince Louis, only 18 months old, is expected to stay at home with Kate’s parents, reports Emily Andrews, royal correspondent for The Sun.

Prince William, Duchess Kate, Duchess Meghan, and Prince Harry arrive to Christmas service in December 2018.

Though the Christmas march is a family affair, it’s still a highly choreographed formal engagement that deems ultimate approval from Queen Elizabeth II. George’s and Charlotte’s participation, along with William’s and Kate’s approval, means the young royals are apparently ready to take the next step when it comes to public appearances.

A source told Andrews, “It’s the picture all royal fans want to see. The royals walking to church on Christmas Day is a rite of passage and so William and Kate didn’t want to expose their children too early, but they feel they’re old enough now.”
