Stormy Daniels Tops Kim Kardashian in Pornhub’s 2018 Searches

Trending News: Stormy Daniels Dominates Over Kim Kardashian in Pornhub’s 2018 Searches

Move over Kim Kardashian, Stormy Daniels is the new queen of Pornhub.

The popular adult site hosted more than 30 billion searches this year, and the most popular was Stephanie Clifford, a.k.a. Stormy Daniels, the woman who alleges she had an affair with the president. Searches for her surged particularly when she was in the news cycle.

Daniels, who was No. 671 in 2017, overtook Kim Kardashian as the most searched for porn star on the site. The reality star dropped to No. 14 from 4 last year. However, Kardashian’s sex tape still is the most watched video in the history of the site with 195 million views.

Pornhub’s annual year in review data also showed other eye-catching statistics that reveak a lot about what users were into this year.

Stormy Daniels, ‘Fortnite,’ and Bowsette

Following Daniels, the wildly popular video game “Fortnite” was an extremely popular search term when it comes to what defined the year, especially in April when the game’s servers crashed due to a "critical failure with one of [the] account service databases."

“Romantic,” “trans” and “Tinder” were also among the 10 most popular searches, as well as “Bowsette,” a Nintendo fan-art video-game character. Another cartoon character that got plenty of attention was DC’s Harley Quinn, who was played by Margot Robbie in the 2016 movie “Suicide Squad.”

USA! USA! USA!

Of all the countries in the world, the United States of America watches the most Pornhub by far. The countries followed are the United Kingdom, India, Japan and Canada.

Considering all that time spent on Pornhub, how long do Americans last? Ten minutes and 37 seconds, which puts the U.S. in third place after the Philippines and South Africa, although Pornhub admits bandwidth might play a factor in time spent on the site.

Distractions, Distractions

People tend to stay rather consistent with their masturbation habits, but when a major news, entertainment, or sporting event happens, previous Pornhub Year in Review data have shown that attention tends to wander. This year was no different. During the September live Apple event, Pornhub traffic dropped 11 percent. During the Super Bowl, it plummeted 26 percent.

Specific holidays can also impact traffic. Incredibly, worldwide Pornhub use dropped by 44 percent on New Year’s Eve from 6 p.m. until midnight. In the U.S. however, it only dropped by 38 percent.
