Galarian Ponyta makes its debut in Pokemon Go to celebrate the release of the Crown Tundra. This guide will show where players can find it. Pokemon Go has had one of its most successful years regardless of the circumstances happening in the world. The year where players were pushed to stay indoors to avoid a global pandemic saw that Pokemon Go could continue to be extremely profitable. With small changes to the game like an increase of distance to interact with PokeStops and Gyms, creating a new item to participate in raids from a distance, and an extension of time for how long the Incenses last have made Pokemon Go super fun for players waiting inside. Galarian Ponyta is one of the newest additions to come to the game this year. This guide will show where players can find it.

The final piece of the Pokemon: Sword & Shield expansion pass has recently released and to celebrate, Pokemon Go has received both Galarian Ponyta and Farfetch'd. This guide will show how players can capture their own Galarian Ponyta.

Pokémon GO Adds Galarian Ponyta & Sirfetch'd To Celebrate Sword & Shield Expansion

There are two ways for players to capture their own Galarian Ponyta in Pokemon Go.

  • Raid Battles: Galarian Ponyta appeared in Raid Battles until October 23rd. It is likely it will return in the near future.
  • Eggs: Galarian Ponyta will appear Yellow 7km eggs. Use Incubators to hatch them as soon as possible.

Galarian Ponyta can also evolve into Galarian Rapidash using Ponyta Candy. Fortunately, the player will only need 50 Ponyta Candy to evolve it. No special stone or item required.

Pokemon Go will likely release more Galarian Pokemon in the near future including the new Galarian Slowking and Slowpoke introduced in the Pokemon: Sword & Shield expansion pass. Also, Pokemon Go is receiving an update to connect with Pokemon Home, allowing players to save and secure their Pokemon for future use. Pokemon Go is also phasing in the sixth generation of Pokemon, starting off with Mega Evolutions. Within the next two years, Pokemon Go will finally catch up with the mainline titles with the number of Pokemon present in the game.
