What is it with me and hair removal? I could talk about it all day, every day (as evidenced here, here, here, and here). My willingness to try new methods and means knows no bounds – let’s call it “research” for those of you who are less fond of using yourselves as human guinea pigs. Anyway, my latest case study had me visiting local beauty bar 4 Angels Beauty Care in downtown Vancouver.

Open since 2013 on Burrard Street (just off the bridge on the edge of downtown), 4 Angels has slowly but surely been building a loyal clientele thanks to the expertise, skill, and gentle demeanor of owners Navkiran Sokhi and Kulwinder Malhi. The pair brings a combined 35 years of industry experience and are currently the only two employees at 4 Angels, meaning every time you make an appointment you’re guaranteed service from a well experienced and qualified esthetician.

Immediately upon arriving to my appointment at 4 Angels, I was impressed – there was plenty of parking right out front, a luxury rarely enjoyed in downtown Vancouver. The location is extremely convenient if you’re driving over the bridge – and the pay parking is super cheap since it’s outside the heart of downtown. The space itself is bright and inviting, with comfy chairs to cozy up in while enjoying your service.

Maybe I’m just getting used to the whole threading thing, but my appointment with Kulwinder was the least painful I’ve ever experienced (and my brows were in need of a total overhaul). Her soothing voice and calm attitude must have helped, too. I was practically falling asleep in the chair! She worked quickly and attentively, instructing me when needed and asking for my input on the shape. She finished off with brow makeup that is also offered for sale if I needed some to take home. She did an amazing job on my brows; I couldn’t be happier (if you saw my selfie post from this week, my brow game is all thanks to Kulwinder – check it out here).

Aside from threading, 4 Angels offers tinting, waxing, massage and mini-facial services, as well as services tailored specifically for men. Additionally, they have henna and sari wrapping available.
