NYC rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie arrested in London before festival performance

Bronx-born rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was forced to cancel his appearance at a UK festival Saturday after he was arrested by police in London for an incident that allegedly occurred two years ago.

Its not clear what the hip hop star was accused of, but he confirmed that he was taken into custody when he took to Instagram to apologize to his fans for the canceled appearance.

“SMH sorry to everyone who came out to see me at wireless, London police locked me up before I went on stage for something I was accused of 2 years ago,” the rapper, whose real name is Artist Dubose, wrote in the post. “ I’m OK and I’ll try my best to make it up to you guys.”

An instagram video appears to show cops arresting Dubose at the festival. Official charges have not been revealed.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told the Daily Mail that there was an incident of a 25-year old male being arrested at the festival, however the rapper was not named in the statement.

 “On Saturday, 11 September, a 25-year-old man was arrested at the Wireless Festival in Crystal Palace Park,” Police told the outlet. “The arrest was made by Met Police officers at the request of Greater Manchester Police.” 

“The man was released on bail to attend a Greater Manchester police station at a later date.”

According to the Sun, festival organizers hoped that the “rapper would be able to appear on Sunday, however he did not perform.

This is the second time in twelve months that Dubose has been arrested after law enforcement raided his New Jersey home and found an arsenal of weapons and marijuana.

He is expected to release his fourth album later this year.
