There are two elite wide receivers in college football this season. CeeDee Lamb is a top of the line prospect out of Oklahoma, but Alabama's Jerry Jeudy might be the best receiver prospect in years. Jeudy is expected to go in the top five of the draft. The New York Jets could use him more than most teams.

Jeudy won the Biletnikoff Award last season after he finished with 68 catches for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns. This season, he has 867 yards and nine touchdowns on 64 catches. Jeudy is already an elite route runner with great hands and top notch speed. He is viewed as a receiver with huge star power and one who could be a No. 1 for a long time.

The Jets are in the middle of another tough season. They are 3-7 which currently has them lined up for a top-10 pick. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the New York Giants and Washington Redskins that hurt their chances at getting a top pick. Wherever they end up, the Jets could use a wide receiver and Jeudy would be a perfect fit.

Jeudy to the Big Apple?

The Jets had high expectations for this season despite the obvious problems with the team beginning with the head coach. Adam Gase has proven that he is an incapable coach. Sam Darnold missed time with mono this season and has been inconsistent when he has been under center. On the offensive side of the ball, New York added Le'Veon Bell and Jamison Crowder but they are still in search of their main option at receiver.

Crowder is a solid option in the slot and Robby Anderson is a deep threat but a No. 2 at best. Darnold is in need of weapons to throw the ball to. Outside of offensive line help, receiver is the position where the Jets need the most help. This is a draft with two top level receivers and the Jets need to land one of them.

Star power, leadership, and thick skin are three things needed to play in New York. Jeudy seems to possess all three. He will be an immediate star wherever he lands in the draft. Coming out of Alabama, Jeudy will come from a winning culture and will have a mindset built by one of the top coaches ever in college football. If Jeudy lands on the Jets, he will immediately take their offense to a new level and they might reach expectations that their offense had for this season.
