Even after signing Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith during free agency, wide receiver remains one of the top priorities for the Eagles in this weekend's NFL Draft in Philadelphia, particularly to grow and develop alongside quarterback Carson Wentz.

Many view Western Michigan's Corey Davis to be the No. 1 prospect at the wide receiver position, and he is a player that the Eagles showed interest in early and often throughout the pre-draft process.

Davis says that he came away impressed by what he saw out of Wentz during his rookie season.

"I like the way he plays," Davis said of Wentz, via ESPN. "I like what he's done. He's a guy that has come from a small school as well and made the most of it."

Davis would certainly provide Wentz with a legitimate option in the red zone, elite speed, and a player who could immediately see the field as a rookie.

Last season, Davis caught 97 passes for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns while averaging 15.5 yards per catch.

Ahead of the NFL Draft, Davis only visited five teams, and the Eagles were one of the first on his itinerary. He says that the Eagles' interest has been strong, from the beginning.

"It was one of my first visits. It went really well. I like the coaches, like the team. It was just a good time, I loved it," Davis said. "They were just one of the first teams to get a hold of my agent and we went from there, ended up meeting with them first."
