#Daydream: Sunset at Mather Point, Grand Canyon, Arizona

We know how it is. You’re stuck at your desk and the day seems to be going on forever. Your mind starts to wander — at first to “anywhere but here,” but then to exotic, faraway lands where your everyday problems and stress melt in the presence of true paradise. You want to go to there, and we want to go with you. Every day at 3 p.m. Eastern, we’ll send you a picture of the place we at Yahoo Travel are daydreaming about so we can all take that mental vacation together. Let’s go to…

…the Grand Canyon!!! This incredible 277-mile long canyon carved into the colorful Arizona landscape by the Colorado river is truly a sight to behold. It’s no wonder that 5 million people come out to see it every year. There’s plenty of history and Native American culture to explore as well as hiking, running, rafting, and helicopter tours. Of course, the incredible land itself is the star attraction and most visitors are happy to just look at the magnitude of the land. We think the best time to see it is at sunset, when all the beautiful reds and purples of the rocks get echoed in the the intense hues of the sky. It’s enough to take your breath away.
