Spring 2021 graduation ceremonies held on March 25 and 26

On March 25 and 26, the graduation ceremonies for undergraduates, graduate students and students from the Art and Architecture School were held at the Arena on Toyama Campus.
In consideration of the health and safety of all students and their family members, only graduating students were invited to the ceremonies to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection. Besides limiting the number of participants, other coronavirus preventative measures such as staggering the ceremonies were also in place. For those who were unable to attend in person, online live graduation ceremonies were broadcast on YouTube.
In the Academic Year 2020, a total of 11,128 students graduated from Waseda. They were 8,332 bachelor’s degree students, 2,054 master’s degree students, 492 professional master’s degree students, 210 doctoral degree students, and 40 students from the Art and Architecture School.
“Over the course of your studies at Waseda, I believe you’ve all developed intellectual resilience and flexible sensitivity. Be confident of the thinking skills you’ve gained and utilize them when you step into society. For those who are furthering your studies, make full use of the skills as your pursue deeper learning and knowledge. I hope you’ll all find meaning in what you do and channel your energy into opening up new paths of life,” said President Tanaka at the graduation ceremonies.
