Wrestling legend Scott Steiner, 59, returns to ring just a year after he ‘stopped breathing and given heart shock’
WRESTLING legend Scott Steiner returned to the ring for the first time since he terrifyingly collapsed in March 2020.
The 59-year-old reportedly ‘stopped breathing and was given a heart shock’ after he fell to the floor backstage at Impact Wrestling tapings last year.
Big Poppa Pump climbed between the ropes again on Saturday to face WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
The powerhouse came up short at the event held at the Fitzgerald’s Casino Event Center in Tunica, Mississippi.
He was hit by the referee with a foreign object during the closing stages of the bout that allowed Lawler to claim the win.
Steiner was among a host of iconic names at the bash that allowed fans to meet-and-greet their heroes.
Bill Dundee, Ricky Steamboat, Lex Luger, Sgt. Slaughter, Tommy Rich, Doug Gilbert, Dave Brown, Kurt Angle, Miranda Gordy and Thunder Rosa were also in attendance.
Former WCW champion Steiner was rushed to hospital after he collapsed but his wife Christa later posting a heartfelt update that his condition was improving within days.

Freakzilla then shocked everyone just weeks later with an appearance at a New ERA Wrestling event.
Discussing his ordeal on that night, Steiner said: “I tell you what. It happened on Friday night and I actually do not remember walking to the ring, talking, walking back to the ring, collapsing.
“I don’t remember Friday night, I don’t remember Saturday night.
“As I was sitting in the hospital bed, the doctor came up to me and said ‘the procedure that happened to you, normally you only have 80 per cent chance of winning…of getting out of the bed…of living’.
"I said doc, every time I step in the ring I have a 140 and two-thirds chance of winning. What do you think my chances are of jumping out of this bed?
“So this goes to all my freaks in Jasper, Alabama. Big Poppa Pump is your hookup! Holla if you hear me!”
But fans will be glad to see the veteran back on top form and competing again after his health scare.
