It’s an animal world

Animal print-inspired nail designs have been on the rise ever since Sally Hansen Salon Effects gave the trend a boost with their leopard and zebra nail strips. Now, with  Nicole by OPI Nail Pens in a variety of colors, you can make your own animal print nail designs. For a funky, eclectic leopard print look, try using the black Nicole by OPI nail pen as the outline for the spots. As a background color for the spots, use a bright blue like Tarina Tarantino’s nail lacquer in Supernova and for the actual spots color, use a glittery pink like OPI’s “I Lily Love You.”

If you’re into glitter (and lots of it), Deborah Lippmann has some glitter shades you will love. To get a super rich glitter effect, apply at least three coats of polish to each nail. There are many ways to experiment with glitter nail polish such as painting only one nail on your hand in a glitter polish to make it stand out or by applying a gradient effect of glitter polish on your nails. To achieve the glitter gradient effect, apply one coat of glitter polish to your nail, then a second coat but start at the middle of your nail and swipe up. To finish the gradient effect, start the third coat just below the tip of your nail and swipe up.
