Each bag consists of 3 pounds of sterilized rye grains inside a mushroom grow bag with a filter patch. The rye grains will be fully colonized with the Chicken of the Woods mushroom mycelium and ready for you to use on arrival.
Chicken of the Woods mushrooms grow best in a warm environment and should be kept at a temperature between 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Live mushroom spawn is a perishable product and should be stored in a cool and dry location. We recommend using the spawn within 2 weeks of receiving it. If you need to store it for longer periods, keep it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.

Each fully colonized 3-pound bag of mushroom spawn can inoculate approximately 10 pounds of bulk substrate. One pound of mushroom spawn or bulk substrate is equal to 1 quart in volume.
