This Jaw-dropping BC Park With 5 Beaches Is Like A Trip To Australia's Gold Coast
Some of the world's best sandy shores and glistening blue water are in the Land Down Under. But the more than 24-hour flight to get there might have you reconsidering visiting. Thankfully, there is a much closer alternative. Cape Scott Provincial Park in B.C. has five beaches that feel like a trip to Australia's Gold Coast.
Seven hours northwest of Victoria, you'll find this incredible provincial park. While there are no kangaroos, it does boast 30-kilometres of spectacular beaches away from the crowds.

Two of the top spots are San Josef Bay and Nissen Bight.
The first is the easiest to reach as it is only 2.5-kilometres from the parking lot. After a quick 45 minute walk along a gravel path, you'll be at a surfers paradise with white sand.
Just like at the Gold Coast, you'll find surfers riding waves and enjoying the sunshine.
Meanwhile, Nissen Bight is a five and a half hour trek, but it is worth it. The oasis stretches 2,400 metres long and 210 metres wide at low tide.
The other three beaches are for experienced well prepared, experienced hikers.
Guise Bay, Lowrie Bay, and Experiment Bight are much more challenging to reach. It will take you anywhere from five to seven hours.
Before you go, make sure to check the surf conditions, as sometimes the water can have intense waves not suitable for swimming.
You'll also want to put on your hiking boots or rubber boots as the trails can sometimes be muddy.
The area is home to wolves, so everyone who goes to the park has to be mindful about being in their home so that they don't get habituated to humans.
Near all the beaches except Lowrie Bay, you can also find cheap backcountry campsites. They are available for just $10, making it very affordable to go for a weekend.
