People of all ages have questions and concerns about AI, and today, I had a great conversation regarding AI's impact on how we communicate with participants in the Lifelong Learning Institute, a program for people 55 and older through the NIU Continuing and Professional Education office. There is a myth that people who are older do not care or know about technology, but that is a gross oversimplification of how different generations engage with AI. We had an excellent dialog about their experiences with evolving communication technology over the decades, the benefits and challenges of AI, including chatGPT, for their needs and for society, and the connection between Lily Tomlin's "Ernestine" and today's virtual assistants.

I'm learning as I grow everyday too. When people ask me whether they should include AI in their pitch decks, here's my response: Does AI truly enhance your business? Does it help you address the problems of your target audience? Tech Lingo makes your product better really? What is AI I ask these entrepreneurs? There is a distinction between thinking and acting. Machine learning primarily deals with "thinking," while automation is focused on "acting." However, these two fields are converging in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), blurring the boundaries between them. For instance, self-driving vehicles use machine learning to navigate and automation to make decisions. Similarly, ChatGPT follows this approach, utilizing machine learning to formulate questions and automation to generate answers. This combination enables a human-like quality that mirrors our own thought processes and actions in daily life.

The world of machine learning and artificial intelligence has grown exponentially. And when the latest iteration of ChatGPT took center stage in late 2022, uses for artificial intelligence popped up in nearly every area of life. People seem to be using it for everything: crafting short stories, asking for jokes, proofreading articles, writing emails – the possibilities seem endless. You may even have tried using it for your firm’s daily tasks, like writing first drafts of emails or organizing notes. It’s an exciting time, but those new technologies also come with new risks. In today’s blog, we’ll look at the top four AI security concerns for RIAs, as well as what the experts have to say about the future of its use in the financial industry. https://lnkd.in/eANUcNA3

Generative AI and LLMs have been frequent topics of conversation at #RECustomerUSA23—so Kara Bissonnette couldn't miss the opportunity to attend a panel discussion this morning that was partly created by ChatGPT! Kara plugged her session notes into ChatGPT to write a recap for us, what do you think? The panel discussion underscored three key themes for effective AI adoption at an organization: 1.) The significance of affective change management 2.) The necessity of strong data literacy and strategy 3.) The importance of infusing empathy into AI usage through responsible training Other topics of discussion included the need for an AI strategy that includes governance, a refocus on building for next best sequence rather than next best action, and the benefit of investing in training team members as Prompt Engineers to harness AI's full potential.

Generative AI has hit the ground running—so fast that it can feel hard to keep up. Since the release of ChatGPT in November 2022, it’s been all over the headlines, and businesses are racing to capture its value. Within the technology’s first few months, McKinsey research found that #generativeai (#genai) features stand to add up to $4.4 trillion to the global economy—annually. We will look back at these times just a few years from now and I predict that this will be bigger than the Internet boom. Companies will rise and fall based on how they manage this GenAI revolution. Here’s a quick take pulled from McKinsey & Company top articles and reports on the subject. https://lnkd.in/gZ2_Jdv9

Impact of AI in Entertainment and Media This is the next "Impact Series" paper in a series of papers describing the applications of Generative AI in a variety of industries. This one is about "Impact of AI on Entertainment and Media" The intention of this white paper series is to bring the conversation on GAI back to the practical applications after we have all experienced a snapshot of what it can do in the form of ChatGPT. I just got tired of the "look at this cool thing ChatGPT can do" or the "AI is going to destroy society" posts. I wanted to bring the conversation back to something more productive and based in real use cases for the technology. Expect to see additional ones (not necessarily in this order): Impact of AI in auto and auto parts manufacturing Impact of AI in real estate and property management Impact of AI in interactive media Impact of AI in insurance Impact of AI in telecommunications Impact of AI in manufacturing and supply chain management Impact of AI in environmental sustainability Impact of AI in federal government including contracting and procurement Already published are: The Future is Now – The Implications of New Generation Large Language Models The Impact of AI on Smart, Connected Devices The Impact of AI on the Auto Industry The Impact of AI in Healthcare The Impact of AI in Education and E-Learning The Impact of AI in Finance The Impact of AI in Energy The Impact of AI in State and Local Government The Impact of AI in Transportation and Logistics Impact of AI in marketing and advertising #ai #generativeai #machinelearning #machinelearningsolutions #entertainment
