A bit further up from Battery Spencer, Hawk Hill is a nearly 1,000-foot peak in the Marin Headlands that offers unwavering views of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. Its high perch allows for an expansive view of the surrounding landscape and of course unobstructed views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Baker Beach
Take a stroll along the shores of the Pacific Ocean for the ultimate sunset viewpoint. Joined with a rugged cliff line and the crashing waves this is one of the best places to view the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. With several outlook points offering a different perspective of the bridge, there is also a great place to have an evening picnic as you watch the sun dip behind the skyline. Set back about three miles from the bridge, this viewpoint highlights the wide-open sea and rugged wilderness of the coast. Spend the afternoon hiking the nearby Eagle’s Point trailhead and end the day with a relaxing view of the sunset.
