This full-page colour 2-sided print entitled "Paul Berthon, La Vague 1899" on one side, and "Eugene Grasset, Grafton Gallery 1893" on the reverse (both signed in the plate), is from the 1977 first edition book “Art Nouveau Posters & Graphics” by Roger Sainton, published by Academy Editions, London. It measures 8¼” x 11½” (21cm x 29cm) and has borders for framing.

Paul Berthon (1872-1909) was a French artist who produced primarily posters and lithographs. Berthon's work is in the style of Art Nouveau, much like his contemporary Alphonse Mucha. Berthon studied as a painter in Villefranche-sur-Saône before moving to Paris.

Eugène Samuel Grasset (1845-1917) was a Swiss decorative artist who worked in Paris in a variety of creative design fields during the Belle Époque. He is considered a pioneer in Art Nouveau design.
