Moore, Ok.

Pretty straight forward question: Has anyone tried to use the FW Bombard kit to make a Colossus?
I'm thinking it can be done without too much fuss, but I'm sure that's also a lot of wishful thinking on my part too!
I appreciate any input.

The bombard is the same as a Colossus. They pulled the whole they build them on chimera and leman russ hulls line in the new imperial armour book.

I have 2 bombards that I use as Colossus. You wont get that kit to fit on a chimera mate its just the wrong shape. Just stick a gun on the hull and you are away.

Here is mine so you know what I mean.

Hopefully those shots will show you what I mean by how hard it would be if even its even doable to get that on a chimera. Me and my mate looked into it and just could not see and even remotely simple way of pulling it off.
Also the kit comes with a whole leman russ so you can cut up a sponson heavy flamer or heavy bolter to mount on the hull so its codex correct and it will look fine.
Well I think my heavy flamers look ok anyway

Hope this helps.

That was a HUGE help! Thank you so much for taking the time to put those pics up!
So, is the "gun carriage" one solid piece? The part that the motar sets on is what I mean.

Basically the front and bottom section are all one part.

The inner side sections are individual parts that glue onto the inside of a leman russ track section. They then glue the the that front and bottom bit.

The gun is about 4 parts. It has the main gun and then all the breach parts. As you can see from mine you can build this open or closed.

The crane is several pars and it just glues onto a flat bit of the hull that stick out the back.

You the have 2 side sections that site on the outside of the leman russ track secion where the side weapons ect would be.

Finally there are to sets of "arms" that the gun fits into to hold it in place. These are glued onto the side sections once everything else is built.

Ow and the little dozer blade is 2 parts that slot into the sides the same way as a rhinos back hatch.

Its a pretty good kit needs a little bit of green stuff work and filing but that is just forgeworld for you.
