'Sometimes in the pursuit of youth you lose your own face': Celebrities who have taken plastic surgery WAY too far are exposed in viral before-and-after images that have left fans stunned

There are many celebrities who have taken plastic surgery way too far - resulting in them looking more like a wax-figure or a doll than a human.

Now, the stars who have become practically unrecognizable thanks to an immense amount of surgical enhances have been exposed in a series of viral before-and-after social media posts.

An Instagram account called CelebFace has taken the internet by storm in recent months - gaining more than one million followers - after it started sharing side-by-side comparisons, showcasing how much some of Hollywood's biggest stars have changed due to cosmetic procedures.

Fans have speculated that Liam Payne, (seen left in 2015 and right in March 2023), 29, has had cosmetic surgery on his face to make it look more angular

According to a popular Instagram account called CelebFace, here are the celebrities who have gone the most overboard while going under the knife. Liam Payne is seen

Most recently, the account shared a carousel of photos revealing the 10 women and nine men in Hollywood who have altered their appearances the most over the years - and it left many people on the web stunned over their severe changes and drastic transformations.

'Facial plastic surgery helps to reduce imperfections and signs of aging,' CelebFace captioned the post.

'Natural ageing or plastic surgery is everyone's own business. But sometimes in the pursuit of youth and perfection, you can lose your own face.'

Take a look for yourself. According to CelebFace, here are the celebrities who have gone the most overboard while going under the knife.

Kim Basinger

Kim Basinger (seen in 1988), 69, has never confirmed nor denied if she's had plastic surgery, but her face has looked suspiciously smooth recently
Earlier this month, a plastic surgeon, named Dr. Omar Tillo, weighed in on it to Express , and he said he thinks that she received Botox and dermal fillers. She is seen earlier this month

Kim Basinger (seen left in 1988 and right in March 2023), 69, has never confirmed nor denied if she's had plastic surgery, but her face has looked suspiciously smooth recently

First on the account's list was Kim Basinger. The 69-year-old actress and former model's face has looked suspiciously smooth and wrinkle-free in recent years, leaving many to believe that she's had work done.

Earlier this month, a plastic surgeon, named Dr. Omar Tillo, weighed in on it to Express, and he said he thinks that she received Botox and dermal fillers.

He said: 'If you look at previous photos, you can see apparent lines and wrinkles around Kim's eyes.

'These could be treated with anti-wrinkle injectables such as Botox. She also has clear lines around her mouth area, which could be the result of being smoothed out with dermal filler.

'Kim’s skin also seems much fresher with a more even complexion - this could be due to several factors such as laser treatments.'

A second expert, named Reza Nassab, agreed, and added that he believed she might have also had a fat transfer or a facelift.

Back in 2012, Kim's daughter, Ireland Baldwin, insisted that her mother had not received any plastic surgery, while calling her 'the most naturally beautiful woman there ever was and will be.'

'Ladies, if you want to avoid Botox and any other skin treatments, listen to my mom. She hasn’t had one treatment done because she’s stayed completely out of the sun all these years,' she wrote in an Instagram comment.

Kim herself has never addressed speculation surrounding her looks.

Lara Flynn Boyle

Lara Flynn Boyle (seen in 1990), 53, has never confirmed that she went under the knife - but there has been a lot of talk about her changing appearance over the years
In 2006, an expert said he believed that she had received a rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, facial fillers, a browlift, and facelift. And it's only gotten worse since then. She is seen in 2017

Lara Flynn Boyle (seen left in 1990 and right in 2017), 53, has never confirmed that she went under the knife - but there has been a lot of talk about her changing appearance over the years

Second on CelebFace's list was Lara Flynn Boyle. The actress left the internet stunned after she was seen looking nearly unrecognizable while running some errands on her 53rd birthday this week.

Although the Twin Peaks has never actually confirmed that she went under the knife, there has been a lot of talk about her changing appearance over the years.

The first signs of Lara's alleged cosmetic enhancements came in the early 2000s, when many started to notice that her lips looked plumper and her skin seemed smoother.

In 2006, an expert said he believed that she had received a rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, facial fillers, a browlift, and facelift. And it's only gotten worse since then.

Pamela Anderson

Rumors have swirled that Pamela Anderson (seen in 1990), 55, had work done on her face for years, but she once said she 'doesn't want to do all the crazy s**t to herself'
'I always said I’d recognize myself when I was old in the mirror,' Pamela (seen in 2017) added. 'A lot of women that kind of are these classic beauties have a really hard time with aging. I don’t think it’s as hard for me'

Rumors have swirled that Pamela Anderson (seen left in 1990 and right in 2017), 55, had work done on her face for years, but she said she 'doesn't want to do all the crazy s**t to herself'

Third on CelebFace's list was Pamela Anderson. The Playboy model and Baywatch star, 55, has been pretty open about getting a boob job early on in her career.

And while her implants became so famous that Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not wanted to buy them and put them on display, she later got them removed in 1999, after she said she decided they 'didn't look very good' anymore.

'I feel like I'm a petite person and just having these large breasts was, it just didn't feel right anymore,' she added.

'I was really kind of being self-conscious of it. I don't know what happened. I think after having children and nursing I felt like I was Dolly Parton for the longest time and I thought, "I just want my natural body back."'

When it comes to her face, rumors have swirled for years that she's undergone the knife, but she told Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast earlier this year that she's not afraid of aging and has vowed to never change her looks so much that she doesn't 'recognize herself in the mirror.'

'I can’t wait to see myself old,' she gushed. 'I always said I’d recognize myself when I was old in the mirror.

'I want to let my hair go kind of natural gray, put my little straw hat on, don’t wear makeup. I mean, that’s my comfortable kind of state.

'A lot of women that kind of are these classic beauties have a really hard time with aging.

'I don’t think it’s as hard for me and I don’t want to chase that and I don’t want to do all the crazy s**t to myself.

Janice Dickinson

Former supermodel Janice Dickinson (seen in 1978), 68, has admitted to getting a breast enlargement, tummy tuck, neck and facelifts, liposuction and Botox

Former supermodel Janice Dickinson, 68, also made CelebFace's list.

The catwalk queen has never been shy about plastic surgery, and has admitted to getting several procedures over the years - including a breast enlargement, tummy tuck, neck and facelifts, liposuction and Botox.

In fact, in 2013, when she declared herself bankrupt, it was revealed that she owed $8,000 to Beverly Hills dermatologist Arnold Klein and over $8,000 in debt to the Beverly Hills Anti-Aging Center.

She told InTouch in 2014, 'I live for plastic surgery. I've had every plastic surgery there is.'

In 2015, she appeared on Botched to fix a breast enlargement done 30 years prior, which she said left her with rippling across her breasts.

During the episode, the former model was seen swearing, demanding drugs and, after her implants were replaced, walking around naked, which led Dr. Terry Dubrow to brand her his worst patient ever.

Janice was once one of the world's top models, appearing on the covers of Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Vogue and Playboy magazines as well as working with fashion houses including Versace, Oscar de la Renta and Calvin Klein.

Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling (seen in 1992), 49, has admitted to getting her 'nose and boobs done,' but insisted she had no other surgery despite being branded as 'unrecognizable'
She has said that the recent change in her appearance was thanks to makeup. She is seen in 2022

Tori Spelling (seen left in 1992 and right in 2022), 49, has admitted to getting her 'nose and boobs done,' but insisted she had no other surgery despite being branded as 'unrecognizable'

Next up in CelebFace's post came Tori Spelling. In 2019, the actress, 49, admitted to previously getting her 'nose and boobs done' to People magazine.

But in 2021, speculation started to arise that he had received more cosmetic surgeries after people started to brand her as 'unrecognizable.'

However, Tori insisted that she had nothing else done and that the change in her appearance was thanks to makeup.

'I have an amazing makeup artist now,' she said on Sirius XM at the time. 'With contour, she does makeup like no one else.

'I look completely different. I look like I’ve had a nose job. Like, it’s straight now. But it's all contouring.'

Even so, a plastic surgeon told Page Six at the time that he was definitely convinced she had gone back under the knife.

'She definitely did her nose again, 100 per cent,' plastic surgeon Ramtin Kassir told the outlet.

He also theorized she had a face lift due to her 'clean, tight, and rejuvenated' jaw line, as well as an eyebrow lift.

'When looking at her before picture, you don’t see her nice, defined lines that you see with her now,' he explained. 'I’m just going by what I’m seeing [in the photos].

'She’s probably working out and in great shape, too, so that all helps, but she’s definitely had some things done to her face.'

In February 2022, the mother-of-five announced that she had gotten her breast implants redone 20 years after the first procedure - thanks to advice from her daughter Stella.

'I got them when I was really young. And I didn't know that at a certain point they would have an expiration. I didn't know that you would have to do it again,' she told E! News

After the FDA announced in 2011 that the longer a woman has silicon implants, the higher risk they are for complications, Tori knew she would need to redo the procedure, but 'put it off' for years - until then-13-year-old Stella forced her to finally go and do it.

'It really hit home for me when my daughter came to me and she's like, "Mom, I'm concerned,"' said Tori.

'"You have put this off. You told me for years now that you need to get your boobs redone."'

'For health reasons, it's way safer at this point to do it. Because there's scar tissue buildup, it puts you out there for having long term things go wrong in your body.'

Melanie Griffith

Melanie Griffith (seen in 1975), 65, admitted to experimenting with cosmetic procedures in 2017 - and even said she may have taken it too far
'I didn’t [realize it had gone too far] until people started saying, "Oh my god, what has she done?!"' she told Porter magazine. 'I started dissolving all of this stuff. Hopefully, I look more normal now.' She is seen in 2022

Melanie Griffith (seen left in 1975 and right in 2022), 65, admitted to experimenting with cosmetic procedures in 2017 - and even said she may have taken it too far

Melanie Griffith was also highlighted on CelebFace's list of stars who overdid their plastic surgery.

For years, rumors swirled that the star, 65, had gone under the knife after people noticed her appearance had suddenly changed in the 2010s.

And in April 2017, the actress admitted to experimenting with cosmetic procedures - and even said she may have taken it too far.

'I didn’t [realize it had gone too far] until people started saying, "Oh my god, what has she done?!"' she told Porter magazine.

'I was so hurt I went to a different doctor and he started dissolving all of this [stuff] that this other woman doctor had put in. Hopefully, I look more normal now.'

While Melanie didn't detail what she had done, she did explain to the outlet that she had her first surgery 20 years prior, and said she then 'started doing more injections' in 2010.

She theorized that she was 'allergic to it' and that's what caused her new look, however plastic surgery experts had other ideas.

Benjamin Strong from Kalos Facial Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, Georgia, wrote in a 2015 blog post that he believed 'many failed and botched procedures' was what left her looking like 'plastic.'

After analyzing photos of her over the years, he said he believed she had received 'Botox injections, cheek implants, an eyebrow lift, face lift, and lip augmentation.'

Meg Ryan

Changes: There's no denying that Meg's (seen in 1999) appearance has changed a lot, but she has never spoken out about what she's had done
Changes: In 2016, plastic surgeon Mark Youssef analyzed her face to Hollywood Life and said he believed she had a fat transfer, nose job, lip injections, Botox, and even potentially a facelift. She is seen in 2021

There's no denying that 61-year-old Meg Ryan's (seen left in 1999 and right in 2021) appearance has changed a lot, but she has never spoken out about what she's had done

Next up on CelebFace's list came Meg Ryan. There's no denying that the 61-year-old's appearance has changed a lot over the years, sparking many rumors surrounding what she has or hasn't had done.

'I don't pay a lot of attention frankly,' she told Porter magazine in 2015, when asked about the speculation surrounding her plastic surgery.

'There's a lot of hatred in the world today. It's so easy to judge. Imagine being a hater, how stupid.'

In 2016, plastic surgeon Mark Youssef analyzed her face to Hollywood Life and said he believed she had 'too many' alterations.

'The most obvious thing that she’s had done is some sort of filler or fat transfer to her cheek,' he said.

'It’s definitely too much because the apple of her cheek is too full and too large. When she smiles, all of that filler moves up and makes her eyes look smaller.

'The reason she looks masculine is because of the placement of the volume in her cheeks.

'The volume of the filler should have been placed more laterally to give her a softer look.'

He also theorized that she had a nose job, lip injections, Botox, and even potentially a facelift.

'The tip of her nose is narrower than before. The tip looks more pinched, so it’s very possible that she had some sort of rhinoplasty,' he continued.

'There’s definitely volume in her lips as well, and Botox on her forehead. She’s had too much Botox in the forehead, and as a result the eyes look smaller because it drops the position of the eyebrow.

'The surgery that most drastically changes the shape of the face is a face lift. It looks like Meg Ryan may have had one.

'It’s possible because the shape of her face has changed so much. The texture of her face also looks different. It looks like she could have had some sort of laser skin resurfacing procedure.'

Emmanuelle Beart

Emmanuelle Beart (seen in 1986), 59, revealed in 2012 that she had a 'botched' lip enhancement 20 years prior, which she regretted
'It is a grave act in which you don't necessarily foresee all the consequences,' she said at the time. 'Just the idea of an injection these days devastates me. So I don't know how I will get through [old age].' She is seen in 2022

Emmanuelle Beart, 59, has been open about her 'botched' plastic surgery, so it's no surprise that she made CelebFace's list.

Back in 2012, the French actress revealed that she had her lips enhanced 20 years prior, but she said it backfired and went completely wrong.

'I had my mouth done when I was 27. It was a botched job,' she told Le Monde magazine at the time.

'It is a grave act in which you don't necessarily foresee all the consequences. Just the idea of an injection these days devastates me. So I don't know how I will get through [old age].'

Sydne Rome

In recent years, actress Sydne Rome (seen in 1979), 72, has been compared to a rubber doll thanks to her porcelain-like skin and 'stretched' appearance

In recent years, actress Sydne Rome (seen left in 1979 and right in 2022), 72, has been compared to a rubber doll thanks to her porcelain-like skin and 'stretched' appearance

CelebFace's also included Sydne Rome, 72, on its list. And while the actress has never confirmed that she went under the knife, there's no denying that she's had work done.

BeautyRedactor.com has theorized that she movie star has had numerous Botox injections, a facelift, blepharoplasty (which takes away excess skin around the eyes), and a chin implant.

The website also said she likely had fillers put into her cheekbones, which resulted in them looking 'disproportionate against the background of other facial features.'

Donatella Versace

Donatella Versace (seen in 1991), 67, has adapted much bigger lips, wax-like skin, and suspiciously wide cheek bones recently

A doctor, named Aamer Khan, analyzed her face to DailyMail.com in 2014, and he was convinced that she had quite a lot of work done.

'Her skin is very shiny which is a symptom of too much Botox and laser resurfacing used to smooth the skin,' he said.

Dr. Steve Fallek also told Hollywood Life, 'She’s pretty much had it all. Botox, fillers, lasers for the skin, face lift and eyes and brow lift.'

Zac Efron

Zac Efron (seen left in 2008 and right in 2021), 35, became a hot topic of conversation in early 2021, when fans noticed that he looked quite different from his High School Musical days

Zac Efron, 35, topped CelebFace's list of men who seemed to have gone too far with cosmetic procedures.

He became a hot topic of conversation in early 2021, when fans noticed that he looked quite different from his High School Musical days.

Twitter erupted after he shared a video for Earth day and seemed to be sporting a 'new face.'

In September 2022, the actor addressed speculation over his looks, explaining that he had been in an accident and that was what caused the change in his appearance.

In an interview with Men's Health, the star recalled how he slipped on a pair of socks while running at his home, which caused him to smash his chin into a granite fountain.

The star explained that he lost consciousness and woke up with 'his chin bone hanging off his face.'

He added that when he was injured, the masseter muscles on the inside of his face and jaw 'compensated' for his injury and grew massively in size - hence his remarkable transformation.

Mickey Rourke

Mickey Rourke (seen in 1985), 70, told DailyMail.com that he had already had six surgeries, but he insisted that he only started going under the knife to repair an injury

Mickey Rourke (seen left in 1985 and right in 2022), 70, told DailyMail.com that he had already had six surgeries, but he insisted that he only started going under the knife to repair an injury

Actor and boxer Mickey Rourke, 70, has been the subject of plastic surgery rumors for years, so it's no surprise that he made CelebFace's list.

In 2009, he told DailyMail.com that he had already had six surgeries, but he insisted that he only started going under the knife to repair an injury.

'Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together,' he said.

'I had my nose broken twice. I had five operations on my nose and one on a smashed cheekbone.'

But it seems as though Mickey has had more done since then, and in 2019, he went viral after he appeared on Good Morning Britain and was branded as 'unrecognizable.'

Plastic surgery expert Hala Elgmati told Mirror after that 'overdoing Botox' was likely to blame.

'It's so easy to overdo Botox. There are no lines whatsoever on Mickey's forehead, which is a shame in a man's face,' she explained.

'It's a really good idea to leave a few lines on the face so you don't lose your individual "glow" and so you can still express yourself.'

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone (seen in 1978), 76, has sported a suspiciously wrinkle-free complexion recently, and has admitted to being a fan of cosmetic procedures in the past

Sylvester Stallone, 76, was also on CelebFace's roundup. The actor has sported a suspiciously wrinkle-free complexion recently.

In 1992, he admitted to going under the knife to have half his face lifted in preparation for Rocky, explaining to People that the nerves on that side of his face were damaged when he was born.

At the time, he made it clear he was a fan of plastic surgery, adding, 'Why not do it? You have body work done on your car.'

Since then, he has seemingly received more enhancements. In 2017, a plastic surgeon, named Dr. Adam Hamawy, theorized he had a facelift to Closer.

'Sylvester Stallone looks like he’s definitely had some work done. His strong jawline and tight neck look like they’ve been maintained with a well-performed lower facelift,' he said.

'He’s also had an upper and lower eyelid lift and a browlift that really gives everything away.

'Those brows look really over-pulled. While high, arched brows can look great on a woman, brows that are too high can look awkward on men.'

Liam Payne

Former One Direction member Liam Payne, 29, has been in the hot seat recently thanks to his sudden change in appearance, which is why CelebFace included him in the post.

The singer left his fans shocked when he attended an event earlier this year and looked drastically different.

Many people believed he had undergone a buccal fat removal after they noticed his extremely chiseled jaw.

Pamela Weinberger, founding injector at Plump Cosmetics, told Page Six afterwards that she believed he likely did get the procedure, but added that he might have also had jawline filler, lip filler, chin filler, and Botox injected into his face.

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell (seen in 2002), 63, once said that his obsession with injectables and left him 'unrecognizable' and 'something out of a horror show'

Also on CelebFace's list was former American Idol judge Simon Cowell.

The 63-year-old's very taut-looking face has sparked huge concern from fans in recent years - and prompted a flurry a speculation about what cosmetic procedures were behind his seemingly-ageless appearance.

Back in April 2022, he admitted he went 'too far' with Botox while vowing to be done with cosmetic procedures.

The star admitted to The Sun that his obsession with injectables and left him 'unrecognizable' and 'something out of a horror show' - and he even claimed his drastically changing looks resulted in his left eight-year-old son Eric breaking down in hysterics.

'There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other,' he said.

'I saw a picture of me from "before" the other day and didn't recognize it as me first of all.'

At the time, the America's Got Talent star, who shares his son with partner Lauren Silverman, 45, revealed that he no longer had any filler in his face, adding, 'Eric was in hysterics. Enough was enough.'

Olivier Rousteing

Fashion designer Olivier Rousteing's face has become noticeably thinner and more chiseled in recent years, which CelebFace was quick to point out.

The 36-year-old Balmain creative director has never confirmed nor denied going under the knife, but he told GQ in 2019 that he was a fan of plastic surgery.

'I don't think anyone should feel shame about wanting to perfect themselves,' he said, when asked about men having work done.

'I think the world is changing and you can be an outsider if you want to. It's a matter of choice.'

Justin Jedlica, 42, who has famously dubbed himself as 'The Human Ken Doll,' also made it onto CelebFace's list.

He has had more than 1,000 cosmetic procedures over 20 years, and has spent over $1 million in an attempt to make himself look like the child's toy.

But he has insisted that his body modification are a form of 'art' and that he's motivated by creativity rather than being unhappy with his looks.

He began altering his looks at age 17, and he now prides himself on being the most modified man in the world.

In a 2021 interview on This Morning, he explained that he was heavily involved in the preparation for many of his surgeries, and even designed some of the implants that were put in his body.

'I conceptualized those surgeries, I custom-designed those implants,' he said, adding he perceives himself as an 'innovator' and a 'guinea pig.'

He went on to say some of the cosmetic procedures have 'opened the door' for people to have reconstructive surgeries if they have birth defects or have been injured in accidents.

CelebFace also featured famous costume designer Neven Ciganovic, 52, who has had more than a dozen surgeries.

He once said that he fell in love with how male Bratz dolls look as a kid and wanted to transform himself into one.

He has had multiple nose jobs, Botox injections, cheekbone implants, and fillers added to his jaw and chin.

Back in 2017, he made headlines after he revealed that he developed a 'permanent erection' as an unfortunate side-effect to the anesthetic used during a nose job operation.

The Croatia-born stylist said it lasted for three months in total, and later said he believed that the unexpected reaction was caused by a food supplement he had been taking before the procedure.

He ended up needing three surgeries to fix the problem, but said that his penis 'didn't have any problems' afterwards.

'‘Doctors don’t have any real theories as to why this happened to me but actually, this can happen during the anesthesia or deep sleep - for reasons like genetics, blood pressure or problems in the veins,' he said.

'In my case, they’re not sure what caused the problem. Then a few months ago, I was cleaning my closet and I found some food supplements named L-Arginine, which I had been taking at the time for more strength in the gym and I read on the box how there are possible side effects with your blood pressure and that this supplement pumps blood in your veins and this can cause this problem.

'I also read that it can help boost a man’s sex drive, but at the time I didn’t know that this could happen to me, I just used it to help at the gym.'
