The bungalow is located on the Land’s End road, Bandstand, Bandra (West) in Mumbai. Earlier, this exquisite home was a heritage bungalow and was considered as a popular tourist spot, which was bought by Shah Rukh Khan in 2001 from the Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust. Once the bungalow was re-constructed into a 6 storey building, it was named as Mannat in 2005. The term Mannat refers to ‘desire’. The building has a number of rooms which includes the living room, guest room, entertainment room, a library, a gym, offices and a basement car parking. Let us start reviewing the home from the entrance.
Structure of Mannat house
Mannat is constructed with a style depicting an elegant palace which is supported by large pillars. The entry ways are divided in to two portions of gardens and planting. The palatial bungalow is styled like that of a westernised palace. As mentioned earlier, it has 6 storeys along with various rooms.
The alfresco structure of Mannat
The elegant residence is surrounded by plush laws along with topiary gardens, hanging gardens and shrub planting. Innumerable species of plants are planted like palms and exotic plants. The pathway flows throughout the garden with elusive stairs. The outside view of the windows is designed as arches along with a balcony. The mansion also has a crystal clear swimming pool along with topiary pots and a small island in between.
The interiors of Mannat
The entire bungalow is made out of white marble with stairs and high platforms.- The bungalow is painted in creamy white colour along with a blend of black and silver.
- Indoor gardening is cultivated all over the bungalow.
- Apart from just the outdoors, the indoors also have arches and pillars inside which form the inside interiors.
- The furniture all over the bungalow matches with the interiors and is of the same colour.
- Various portraits are present all over the bungalow.
- The furniture has designs of vines painted with golden shades and also has glass counter tops and table tops.
- Most parts of the have chandeliers made out of crystal and have candle holders.
- The floor of the bungalow is carpeted and the ceiling has designs of vines and other floral patterns.
- As mentioned earlier, not just the furniture but also the dining area and the related parts are made out of glass and crystal.
- The dining table also has a centre embellishment with palm plants and chandeliers above.
Various forms of lighting are used all over the bungalow and the curtains used are dense and layered.- The bedding in the bungalow is made out of velvet fabric of maroon colour.
- The bathroom of the bungalow is completely designed with marble and different tile designs. Glass is widely used along with many mirrors and a profligate Jacuzzi.
