We've gotten a lot of ice on the pavement in recent winters and these make me comfortable walking the dog regardless. Easy to attach and remove and I have never had any concern of losing my footing.

I like that these are just right for walking on ice and snow. They are easy to slip on over any shoe the only thing that bothers me about them is they tend to shift and get kinda crooked while walking in them but they haven't slipped off the shoes so far. I got them because the sidewalks are on my place get icy this time of year and I have to be able to walk my dog no matter what the weather is like and these have been a lifesaver. No more slipping and falling and they have really good grip on ice and they're not very expensive either. If you're thinking about trying them, do it!

I like these grips for light ice that is on hard surfaces like concrete, wood decks or asphalt. The pins on the bottom will penetrate the light ice and provide more traction. However, they are not perfect so don't think you can put them on and go running on ice and have perfect traction - there is nothing that will do that.

One detraction from these and most ice grips is that the pins will create a very slippery condition if you walk off an icy surface and onto something without ice. For example, if you walk into a building or store that has tile floor, the pins do not dig in and grip the tile, and you can find yourself sliding all over the place.

I do not recommend these for long times on ice that is over gravel or grass/dirt or other type surfaces. For those applications I recommend STABILicers Walk Traction Ice Cleat and Tread (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GUCDDG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) as they have longer cleats and they are flat (not round pins) and offset at 90 degree angles to provide better grip in both front-to-back and side-to-side directions and they also dig in deeper. These do not work as well on light or thin ice as the cleats can dig through the thin ice and hit the hard surface underneath and leave the rubber bottom elevated off the ice surface and cause the same kind of slipping as if you walked on a hard tile floor.

My driveway is icy in the winter and I’m always worried that I’ll slip and fall. Now I just put these over my boots and I feel much safer because the little spikes grip more than my boots ever did.

So far, so good. These arrived the afternoon of another snowstorm. I made it home and quickly put on the cleats so that I could try them out while shoveling. Well, kind of quickly. I learned that it's better to take off the boots and then place the cleats on them. I've never used cleats before, so I didn't realize that it takes a bit of getting used to. They worked just fine. This morning, the walk to the bus was amazing. I was only a couple minutes off my time when walking on clear pavement. The cleats came with spare parts so that I can replace the pins when necessary. I feel so glad that I bought these. They're a keeper!

I ordered a size medium and am a women's shoe size 8. These would not stay on my feet. The back piece is too short and does not have enough grip to stay on the back of my snow boots. I had to keep stopping to pull these back on...not what you want when hiking on ice. I'm sending them back and opting for a more substantial pair with a heavier back piece so they stay on.

After wrenching these on to my boots for a first try, they did not hold up well. Spikes came loose and fell out, then I actually lost one as it migrated off my boot during my hike. Super disappointed. I’m a size 9 ladies.
