Few people realize that the jolly image of Santa Claus was established through a seies of advertisements created for the Coca-Cola Company.  The annual campaign started in 1926 and continued for several decades.  The artist responsible for today's image of Santa Claus was Haddon Sundblom.  This image has been transformed into a sculpture by Seiji Nakane in this Limited Edition #3,116 of 6,000 figurines created.  The 1993 "Coca-Cola Santa" was specifically inspired by Sundblom's 1952 and 1955 paintings.
