After surviving a gruesome assassination attempt and bringing much-deserved deaths to several members of the Deadly Vipers, Beatrix Kiddo (aka The Bride) embarks on the ultimate journey to finally KILL BILL. Uuuh, shivers. First, we must revisit the past through a brief yet unforgettable flashback that reveals Kiddo's martial arts pedigree, as well as her severe training under the tutelage of legendary master Pai Mei. Ever heard of Pai Mei's Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique? Yeah, that guy.
Although not explicitly spelled out, it's suggested that Pai Mei has taught tens, if not hundreds of ruthless assassins throughout the decades. Assassins as capable as The Bride and The Deadly Vipers. He is not exactly the best of the bunch nor does he care to be.
Pai Mei, even through those brief memories, seems motivated by the desire of putting his abilities to the test. When The Bride first meets the eccentric master, she boldly claims to be a master of the sword on her own right. Pai Mei chuckles.
