My little man has just turned one! Even though he is too small to notice the time and effort that it took to plan his party and all the little details, I have so much to celebrate and be thankful for, that I would like him to be able to look back and see how this was absolutely a special time for our family.
For the invitation, I had seen lots of mod monkey invites online, but I didn’t just want to buy “any” invitation. This is, after all, not just “any” boy — he has to have a special invite. Lol. I enlisted the help of Auntie Nana, who made this beautiful invitation. Note: We had the party at Shakey’s pizza, so I am not concerned about any of the info shown above.
For the cake, I had seen a lot of things I liked, but nothing exactly like I wanted. Unlike Jovanna, I can’t use photoshop, so I created my (very rough) cake design using Paint, and took it to the Corner View Bakery, where they make really tasty vietnamese cakes and pastries. The cake was filled with bananas of course. I was so happy that it turned out so great!
Still feeling crafty, I cut out the tags myself on teal card stock, hole punched them, and affixed round mod monkey labels that I purchased on etsy. I just added them onto yellow gift bags, and voila, I have custom made goodie bags for Tuggy’s 1st birthday party.
I filled small treat bags with banana runt candies, and sealed them with mod monkey stickers I had purchased on ebay.
Since I had extra round mod monkey labels from the goodie bags, I got bigger treat bags, and filled them with candy, for the adults to enjoy.
His party was a hit, and it is a huge relief that it is over. We couldn’t be more thankful for all the wonderful gifts, and for everyone who came. It is such a blessing to celebrate my little monkey turning one!
