Tuesday’s funeral service at the sports complex — located at 5500 Rose Cherry Place in the Hwy. 401-Hwy. 403 area — will begin at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.

The venue will open at 9:30 a.m. and the event is ticketed. Ticket information is available at mississauga.ca/hazel-mccallion-in-memory and through Ticketmaster.

McCallion’s family, Lt.-Gov. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Premier Doug Ford, and Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie are among dignitaries who will attend.

Disgraced Toronto Mayor John Tory has also said he plans to attend. Tory announced his resignation Friday night shortly after it was revealed the 68-year-old had been in an inappropriate relationship with a female member of his staff, 37 years his junior, during the pandemic. Tory said the affair ended mutually earlier this year.
