The reason behind the fire is not known yet. No one was injured during the entire incident as the fire personnel reached the location and doused the fire, although the vehicle was completely destroyed.

Maruti Suzuki first debuted the Omni as the Maruti Omni van back in 1984. It was one of the most popular models in the country and had a wide presence both in personal as well as commercial spaces. Often touted as the ‘kidnapper’s car’ due to Bollywood movies portraying it as one back in the day, the Omni received its first facelift in 1998. The manufacturer finally pulled the plug on the long-standing workhorse in 2019 after 35 years of service in the Indian market. The model which caught fire in Kerala isn’t known.
