CV CPU Tier 4, Class 4, Unlock Level 25 RE, 20 Vanilla)

Primary roles: Combat, Shield, Warp, Farm, Hangar, Production, Storage, Upgradeable, Vanilla and Reforged Eden

The Carrack - Imperial Light Cruiser was deployed to enforce the will of the empire on distance systems as well as maintain control and quell any rebel resistance. It typically stays away from large scale wars and leaves those battles for the destroyers and dreadnoughts. It is also used time to time by imperial commanders to execute special ops missions behind enemy lines as the ship can be outfitted for a variety of tasks.

Offense and defense

The hull is made with steel with a touch of extra front end armor but largely is meant for shield based combat. It comes 2x320K ammo storage, locations to add 8 small and 8 medium shield parts as well as additional generators, cpu cores, locations to add up to 30 total turrets and 8 launchers. (Comes stock with only 7 minigun turrets). Also it does come with a heavy shield and warp drive.

Hangars and docking pads

The Carrack has a decent amount of docking capabilities. It has a mid sized hangar plus large upper and lower landing pads. The lower landing pad is meant for low profile top mountable creations. There is a 5 second delay opening the main hangar door and boarding ramps to allow docking below the hangar.

Utility and Storage:

It comes with 4x640K storage bays, 2x320K ammo bays, 2 advanced constructors with room to add 3 more constructors/deconstructors, armor locker, location for armor repair, 54 grow plot farm (grow plots not included), full medical bay, 1st and 3rd person bridges, mulitple part upgrade rooms, and a bit a crew related rooms. It also has a location to add a teleporter, repair bay and console, many 1x3 generators and 1 6x2x2 generator, and 10 additional large CV thrusters. There is an info LCD in the ship listing more upgrade information.

Notes: The ship is meant to be upgraded with the weapon load out you want and is shield dependent, meaning the hull is not very tough and is meant to deal with combat using a shield and additional shield parts (RE only). There is a information LCD inside the ship that lists upgrade parts information. Engaging in combat, you would want to keep your shield up as long as possible and get out of combat before it is depleted, well that is the idea.

There is a 5 second delay on the hangar door/ramps opening to allow for docking a low profile creation below the hangar on a top mount landing pad. If running a full shield set up (8 small and 8 medium) you will need to add a minimum of 1 advanced generator and 4 1x3 generators + additional CPU blocks especially if 10 extra large thrusters and a full turret and launcher loadout. Fully upgrade the ship could potentially use 7-10 quantum/aux cores (RE only)

@Markyofballard: when that happens I find that removing a single cargo extension and placing it back in place fixes the issue most of the time. Not sure if it will help but it is an easy thing to try.

Hi I have an issue how do you get the 640k storage bay to swap out to a harvester module. it only comes back 320k ( in game)

Loving this one. I have made it my main exploration for RE. I did add solar so that it can sit and not use fuel. IF anyone is interested I have saved it for anyone use

This is my favorite ship is the entire workshop. What I love about it: 1) It has plenty of turret locations for enough forward-facing firepower to take out just about anything you'll run into out there, 2) The perfect amount of grow plots to keep you in dino stew for life, 3) The designated areas for three sets of charger and capacitor arrays.The only thing I'd put on the wish list for this CV is that it had built-in locations for laser miners. I'm using all of the cannon slots for artillery and advanced lasers. Oh, and space for one more advanced generator would be really nice, but there are a bunch of hidden areas under walkways on level 2 to squeeze in at least four more basic generators. Great job, Jeff. Love your work and your videos!

Thanks for this great design! Best ship for early/mid/ RE by far!

I have used this ship since it was released. Unfortunately, time takes it's toll, with the ship is not looking nearly as nice as when it first spawned. 100s of encounters with zirax and drones have left their mark. Much of the pretty block work on the outside and huge sections of the interior have been destroyed and I don't have the skill to replace properly.

The grow area was converted first to a dance floor (more cpu) and later to extra generator space. I added so many guns, that the original exterior lines are all but gone. The hangar bay is no longer used for ship storage and constructors, only shield parts. Most of the front part of the ship is now combat and xeno.

After adding six aux cores, there is just no more room for new stuff.

Great ship for everything up to legacy. If I had better gaming skills I could probably take out low end legacy ships.

Excellent ship! One observation: The generators are not overly well protected and if there is a hull breach on the bottom of the ship it can lead to a magnificent explosion. Otherwise, this sucker is awesome!
