Last year, Patty Jenkins‘ Wonder Woman broke records left and right and finally gave audiences a female superhero they could root for. Gal Gadot took hold of the iconic lasso and roped in critical acclaim and an astounding box office haul, leaving no question as to why a sequel was greenlit so quickly. Now, it looks like another Wonder Woman could be joining Wonder Woman 2.

Lynda Carter, who famously played the iconic character in the 1970s TV series, is reportedly in talks to star in the Wonder Woman sequel. During a segment on Megyn Kelly Today, Carter revealed that she had been discussing a potential role in the film with Jenkins, but she couldn’t confirm anything just yet.

“That is up to Patty Jenkins. I’ve been talking to her about it,” said Carter. “She’s given me some hints about it and I guess it’s up to Warner Bros if they want to spend the money… It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way, it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do.”

Wonder Woman fans were quick to express their excitement about the possibility of Carter joining the sequel, even speculating about the kind of role she might play:

Carter also recently wrote Gadot’s profile for TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2018, so the bond is already strong between these two heroes.

The film, which is slated for release December 13, 2019, will be set in the 1980s and see our fearless leader face off against the Soviet Union. We’re no expert, but we feel like she could use a helping hand from a veteran world-saver, and Carter might be just the gal for the job.
