Brown Recluse Bite (Trigger for spiders & Unshaven leg)

Anyone have any experience? My new job had a small sticky trap a few days ago about 2 feet away from my desk and I looked at it and it had a dead brown recluse (no doubt about it). Fast forward to today and I felt a sharp sting on my calf, slapped my leg, and thought nothing of it. Felt off today at work. Got home and got in pjs and saw my leg and I have a 2.5 X 1.5 inch knot on my calf. Drew a circle around it and put antibiotic ointment on it and a bandaid. How worried do I need to be? Never had this happen before 😬 🕷️ Blegh! I hate spiders 🕷️

    This is fairly warm and firm. Honestly , it kind of felt like a bee sting. If it looks worse tomorrow I might go in to urgent care for antibiotics after work.

    If it was a brown recluse you're going to need antibiotics. I was bit years ago and the pain when anything touched it was excruciating! I was bit on my shin so I lived in shorts as much as possible. If not properly treated it can cause the skin to die. I'm unfortunately allergic to Batrim the usual go to antibiotics for these types of bites. They ended up giving me something else through IV in the ER then another antibiotic for 10 days.

    My friend got a brown recluse bite on her butt cheek and it turned necrotic. She needed a skin graft. 😩 Keep an eye on it and I’m sure you’ll be okay!

    Yeah, we’re keeping an eye on it. I was really tired today at one point and literally was speaking incoherently. I know bites can go bad fast

    Hopefully this heals overnight 😬 I’ve worked in a hospital and got to see sooo many wound pics and I really really really don’t want to go there

    Luckily I’m not allergic to antibiotics. I did a couple summers ago have a really bad allergic reaction to something in my garden. I had a rash that covered my entire stomach, thighs, arms and chest. I had to do a Z pack and antibiotics to clear that up
