• Norwegian: brunpølse

Characteristics:

The pudding gets, like the most other members of the order Dendrochirotida, food by licking its tentacles. Plankton and other organic material floating by is stuffed into its mouth. It lies on the bottom, exposing the entire body. The up to 50 cm long body is usually dark brown, sometimes almost black. It cannot be mistaken for any other species in Norwegian waters.

Habitat:

The pudding seems to prefer hard substrate and current exposed locations from the tidal zone and down to 200 meters depth.

Distribution:

It is widespread in the Arctic region and the North Sea.
