Abstract
An irrigation control system with a plurality of Local Processing Units (LPUs) connected to each other thus forming a wireless decentralized network. The control decisions for water allocation and its timing for portions of the irrigated area supervised by each LPU are arrived at by means of all LPUs formulating their water requirements in terms of quantity, timing, priority and then interacting with all the other LPUs in accordance with the same swarm-mind type algorithm to prepare the actual water allocations, their exact timing and the water path of delivery via the piping, network.
