Description
Description
A CASH REGISTER
[0001] The present invention relates to a cash register.
[0002] The cash register is used for recording the sales transactions, printing the receipt for the consumer and sometimes for storing cash money. The operations realized by the cash register are stored by means of an electronic device. The said electronic device is kept in a box located in the cash register. Due to the fiscal legislation, the box wherein the electronic device is placed should not be opened after being closed or it should be possible to determine whether or not the box has been opened. In the state of the art, the said boxes are created by the adhesion or epoxy techniques. Furthermore, detecting whether or not the box has been opened is determined by various sensors that require high cost.
[0003] In the state of the art United States Patent Document No.
US20060030194, a sealing element is described that prevents undesired changes, which are made by providing unauthorized access to the elements such as tachographs in motor vehicles, from being made in the devices. By means of this sealing element, it can be detected whether or not an access is made to the said device.
[0004] In the state of the art Japanese Patent Document No. JP2001043776, detection of closing a case body is described. The case described in the said document consists of two pieces. A projection is situated on the piece located at the bottom and a recess is situated on the piece located at the top. When both projections enter the recess, the electrical circuit is completed and therefore it is understood that the case is in the closed state.
[0005] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cash register which provides the fiscal legislative requirements in a safe manner.
[0006] The cash register realized in order to attain the aim of the present
invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises an electronic card which provides the data relating to the performed operations to be saved, a box that comprises a body
comprising a base and formed from the surroundings of this base and
wherein the electronic card is placed and a cover which cannot be opened without being damaged when locked to the body by being seated onto the body and slid in the horizontal direction. At least one claw which extends upwards from the base by contacting the side wall facing the base and at least one protrusion which extends upwards from the base by contacting the body rear wall are situated in the body. At least one housing, wherein the claw enters, is situated on the wall facing the cover inner surface.
[0007] In an embodiment of the present invention, the claw comprises an
extension which extends upwards from the base making a right angle with the base, and a latch which starts from the extension end that is not connected to the base and which extends parallel to the base towards the outer part of the body.
[0008] In another embodiment of the present invention, the claw is L shaped.
[0009] In another embodiment of the present invention, the side, which faces the inner surface of the box, of the protrusion that is disposed onto the platform is in convex form. Thus, the cover is provided to be passed over the protrusion by being jumped over it. The protrusion surface which extends upwards from the body rear wall is perpendicular to the body rear wall.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, the housing located on the cover is L shaped.
[001 1] In another embodiment of the present invention, at least one opening is situated on the front walls of the cover and body. When the cover is disposed onto the body, the said openings face each other. Thus, a small opening is formed on the front surface of the box. By means of the electric cables being passed through the said opening, the electrical connection of the electronic card is provided.
[0012] A cash register realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0013] Figure 1 - is the schematic view of a cash register.
[0014] Figure 2 - is the perspective view of a body.
[0015] Figure 3 - is the perspective view of a cover.
[0016] Figure 4 - is the sideways view of a body.
[0017] Figure 5 - is the view of a body and the cover disposed thereon before they are locked to each other.
[0018] Figure 6 - is the sideways view of a box.

[0020] The cash register (1 ) comprises an electronic card (2) which provides the data relating to the operations to be saved and a box (3) which provides the electronic card (2) to be stored therein (Figure 1 ).
[0021] The box (3) comprises a body (4) which has a base (7) and a front wall (8), at least one side wall (9) and a rear wall (10) that rise from the sides of the base (7), and a cover (5) which has a base (107) and a front wall (108), at least one side wall (109) and a rear wall (1 10) that rise from the base (107) and which cover the body (4).
[0022] The body (4) comprises:
- at least one claw (1 1 ) which extends upwards from the base (7) and
which is adjacent to the side wall (9), and
- at least one protrusion (12) which is situated on the rear wall (10)
surface facing the inside of the body (4) and which extends upwards from the rear wall (10), and which prevents the cover (5) from being detached without any damage after being attached to the body (4).
[0023] The cover (5) comprises at least one housing (15) which is located on the side wall (109) surface facing the base (107) and wherein the claw (1 1 ) is disposed. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the housing (15) is "L" shaped.
[0024] The claw (1 1 ) is preferably L shaped. The said claw (1 1 ) comprises an extension (16) which extends upwards from the base (7) adjacently to the side wall (9) and a latch (17) which extends parallel to the base (7) towards the outer part of the body (4) from the end of the extension (16).
[0025] The surface of the protrusion (12) facing the inside of the body (4) is in convex form. The protrusion (12) surface (Y1 ) which extends upwards from the rear wall (10) and faces the outside of the body (4) is
perpendicular to the rear wall (10).
[0026] By means of the "L" shape of the housing (15), the latch (17) enters into the housing (15) by being moved in the horizontal direction and thus, the latch (17) is prevented from moving upwards and downwards.
[0027] In the cash register (1 ) of the present invention, the cover (5) is disposed onto the body (4) such as the cover (5) side wall (109) and the body (4) side wall (9) overlap and such that the latch (17) enters into the housing (15) after the electronic card (2) is disposed into the box (3). Afterwards, the cover (5) is slid towards the body (4) rear wall (10) over the body (4). When the cover (5) rear wall (1 10) bears on the protrusion (12), the sliding operation is continued and the cover (5) is provided to stretch and rise along the protrusion (12) by means of the protrusion (12) surface having convex form. When the cover (5) passes the protrusion (12) by means of the sliding operation, the cover (5) rear wall (1 10) and the body (4) rear wall (10) overlap and the latch (17) is completely seated into the housing (15). In this case, the protrusion (12) surface (Y1 ) facing the outside of the body (4) and the inner surface (Y2) of the cover (5) rear wall (1 10) bear
against each other. The cover (5) is prevented from moving backwards by means of the protrusion (12) surface (Y1) facing the outside of the body (4), and from moving upwards, downwards and backwards by means of the latch (17). In this case, the latch (17), the housing (15) or the claw (1 1 ) is required to be damaged in order that the body (4) is detached from the cover (5).
[0028] In an embodiment of the present invention, the box (3) comprises an
opening (18) located on the front wall (8) and another opening (180) located on the front wall (108). When the cover (5) is inserted onto the body (4) and locked to the body (4), the opening (18) located on the body (4) front wall (8) and the opening (180) located on the cover (5) front wall (108) overlap. By means of the said openings (18, 180), the electrical connection required for the operation of the electronic card (2) is provided.
[0029] In an embodiment of the present invention, the box (3) comprises at least one nose (6) which provides fixing to the cash register (1 ), a platform (13) which is located on the base (7) and whereon the protrusion (12) is disposed, a fixing group (14) which provides the fixing of the electronic card (2) to be fixed therein and at least one hole (19) which is located on the nose (6). By means of the connection members such as bolt and screw that are passed through the said hole (19), the box (3) is provided to be fixed to the cash register (1).
[0030] In the cash register (1 ) of the present invention, by means of the housing (15) and the claw (1 1 ) and protrusion (12), the cover (5) is permanently connected to the body (4) and cannot be removed from the body (4) without damaging the box (3). Thus, by the damaging of the box (3), it is determined that the box (3) is opened before.
[0031] It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited by the
embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
