Abstract
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for setting a bandwidth using the moving average of data transfer rates. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the moving average of data transfer rates is calculated and the bandwidth is set using the calculated moving average. The present invention is advantageous in that as the configuration of a network becomes more complicated, the states of varied and complicated networks may be reflected in the bandwidth setup, and that an optimal bandwidth is set more effectively according to the state of the network.
