Abstract

The present invention provides a PC card assembly comprising: an upper housing made of metal, a lower housing which defines a compartment with the upper housing; a circuit board assembly disposed in the compartment and including a circuit board and an interface port connected to the circuit board; and a rear cap covering the rear edge of the upper and lower housings. The PC card assembly includes a grounding element made of electrically conductive material and having a fixing portion and an upper branch and a lower branch both extending forwardly from the fixing portion. The fixing portion is inserted into slots formed on the rear cap, with the upper branch urging against the upper housing and the lower branch urging against the circuit board. The grounding element needs not be soldered onto the circuit board hence manufacturing cost is reduced and possible damage to circuit board is prevented.
