Description

A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMMUNICATING INFORMATION AND ADVERTISEMENT
Field of the invention
The present invention relates to an system and method for delivery of Information and advertisements to mobile phones through a communication network, more particularly the system provided with advertisement database and application system integrated with software that transfer the data to the mobile switching center for onward transmission through Base Transceiver Station to the users of mobile phones and further application system integrated with software with the user that sends a communication link, receiving the data, storing, processing and displaying the information with or without voice and advertisement to the users of mobile phones.
Background information
There are several ways of advertisement available now a day such as publications, hoardings, radio, television, internet etc and the person or a corporate can select the advertising media. Depend upon the user population the advertising media is selected for promoting the product/goods. Huge amount of money involved in this type of advertisement and a corporate can only afford to pay such a huge amount. It is not possible for the SMEs to use such a medias.
Recently, mobile phone users are increased in manifold. So the advertisement trend is focused toward mobile networks. The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) carried out a survey of its members in 2006 where 81% of respondents expected successful advertising models to cut prices or fund the consumption of entertainment content on mobile phones. Advertising through a mobile phone is still relatively new and there is a need to provide a simple and economic method. Hosono, Shizu in United States Patent Application 20040038665 disclosed mobile telephone and advertisement distributing method and distributing system for its use wherein an advertisement distributing-functioned mobile telephone produces with an application in its own terminal an advertisement to be distributed, finds its position with a position finding mechanism such as a GPS, and registers its position with a data management server via a positional information server. A control unit controls other circuits in its own terminal, and selects users to whom the advertisement is to be distributed on the basis of user information acquired from the positional information server. A radio control unit acquires user information from the positional information server and distributes the advertisement.
Bayne, Anthony J., disclosed system and method for the distribution of advertising and associated coupons via mobile media platforms in United States Patent Application 20050239448, a mobile terminal apparatus, systems, and methods for a mobile service provider to deliver advertising content, via a GSM/wireless protocol, to a user's mobile terminal are provided. The user's mobile terminal may be both multimedia and Bluetooth enabled, and may be able to be located by the service provider when it is powered on, so that the advertising content presented may be relevant to the viewer's location. When the mobile terminal is presenting advertising content according to the invention, it may simultaneously transmit to other nearby Bluetooth enabled devices, digital coupons that can be used by the recipients for the advertiser's products or services. Some embodiments include a mobile terminal having a display that folds into a second orientation, above or alongside the mobile terminal's main profile to face outward, so that persons standing by can see the advertising being displayed, as hands-free functionality will be temporarily suspended requiring the user to hold the terminal at his ear to speak. The user may receive incentives (reduced/free minutes, free content, e.g., ring tones, etc.) to use the terminal. Service providers will receive advertising revenues and an effective means to monitor the effectiveness of a mobile advertising campaign. Nearby people may receive information and electronic coupons, and advertisers will receive brand recognition. ,
Therefore it is an object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for delivery of Information and advertisements to mobile phones through a communication network.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus, which transfer the data to the mobile switching center for onward transmission of the advertisement through Base Transceiver Station.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus, which transfer the data to the mobile switching center for onward transmission of the advertisement that is displayed with or without voice in the mobile handset.
Further object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus, which capable of delivering advertisement continuously through communication network and displaying with or without voice in the mobile phone at the cell information display field or any other field.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for advertisement through communication network without affecting the other services of the service provider or without disturbing the owner of the mobile set.
Further object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for delivering information and advertisement on the mobile phones, is highly economical and simple. Summary
Accordingly, the present invention provides a system for delivering advertisements and/or any commercial information to the subscriber in the location/geographical area through communication network comprising; means for electronic data input, means for storing and means for retrieving the data of the advertisement and information through the communication network with the advertisement management server provided with application system integrated with software wherein means for retrieving the predetermined subscriber profile data pertaining to the subscriber corresponding to the unique subscriber identification code and the said server is connected to the mobile switching center through Internet protocol connection wherein the said mobile switching center is connected to base transceiver station through base station controller; further application system integrated with software with the user that sends a communication link, receiving the data, storing, processing and displaying the information with or without voice and advertisement to the users of mobile phones.
It is an embodiment of the present invention, a system for providing a advertisement/ commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements/ commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber. The mobile handset is capable of initiating and receiving a call signal and GSM/wireless mobile location data included with the call signal. The signal and the mobile location data are extracted from the mobile communication and provided to an advertisement management system, the advertisement server provided with application system integrated with software then choose the advertisement/ commercial information from the plurality of preselected advertisement/ commercial information stored in the means. Yet another embodiment of the present invention, the targeted advertisement/commercial information includes electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof which are preselected and stored in a electronic data input, storage and retrieval device.
The messages to be targeted to the subscriber are chosen from the preselected messages, in a manner to be described hereinafter, at the time that a GSM/wireless mobile communication is initiated or received by a mobile terminal.
The Subscriber Identification Code is allotted to the subscriber's handset, or to a specific subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service using a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) or Smart Card which can be used in any GSM/wireless mobile terminal having the capability to accept a SIM or Smart Card, thereby allowing any such terminal to be identified with the subscriber associated with the SIM or Smart Card.
The Subscriber Identification Code is used to identify predetermined Subscriber Profile Data pertaining to the subscriber and stored in an electronic database. The Subscriber Profile Data includes personal preference data pertaining to the subscriber, which is collected from the subscriber at the time the subscriber registers with the operator of the GSM/wireless mobile communications service, stored in a conventional electronic data input, storage and retrieval device and updated at regular intervals. The personal data of the subscriber includes general information relating to the individual preferences such as preferred types of food, entertainment, hobbies, travel, television, entertainment, astrology, sports, stocks, forex or any other interested field.
Another embodiment of the present invention, the system comprising means for electronic data input, storage and retrieval in electrical communication with the advertisement management server. The targeted advertisement/commercial information includes electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof. The advertisement/commercial information is predetermined and programmed to display in the handset of the subscriber with or without voice.
According to the predetermined programme, the server provided with application system integrated with software chooses the messages to be provided to the subscriber and pass the information to the mobile switching center through Internet protocol connection.
Yet another embodiment of the present invention, the system is associated with the base station controller through mobile switching center, which is connected with the base transceiver station and in communication with the advertisement management system and a Local Landline Network, wherein the base station controller may be in radio frequency communication with the advertisement management system and controls two or more base transceiver stations as the subscriber moves from an area serviced by one base transceiver station to an area serviced by another base transceiver station. The said server of the advertisement management system operates in the same manner to choose the advertisements/commercial information to be targeted to the subscriber on the basis of the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS.
Still another embodiment of the present invention, the displayed advertisement/commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details displayed in the mobile hand set is stored in the said mobile hand set can be retrieved for further use, a key is assigned or any other option is provided in the key panel of the said mobile hand set.
Further embodiment of the present invention to provide stock market information in the menu of the mobile hand set. The subscriber access the stock market such as Sensex, Nifty, NYSE and the like, news, sports, currency, online movie and music downloading using the said option provided by sending message to the server wherein the said server provide connectivity to access the said stock market information continuously displayed in mobile hand set of the subscriber.
Still another embodiment of the present invention to provide a Local Directory comprising business, service or any other information including address, contact details in the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS. The local directory is created and stored in the storing means of the server wherein the subscriber access the said local directory using the option 'Local Directory1 further having many more field and options related to business, service or any other information including address, contact details in the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS. Sending message to the server to access the said information, the mobile hand set of the subscriber display continuously as crawler or packets. Further embodiment of the present invention to provide important and very useful information such as local police station, hospitals, railway enquiry, fire service, bank, college, school, government establishments, ambulance or any other information with address and phone numbers, along with the advertisement/commercial information automatically or on the request of the subscriber.
The information displayed in the mobile hand set can be allowed or disallowed by the subscriber using the option 'Subscribe or Unsubscribe, On or Off' provided in the menu of said mobile hand set temporarily or permanently.
Advertisement management system comprising the server provided with application system integrated with software, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement/commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means and application system integrated with software.
The application system integrated with software communicate with the server, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement and/or commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means and the said advertisement/commercial information retrieve from any other source. According to the present invention the system and method for delivering advertisements and/or any commercial information to the subscriber in the location/geographical area through communication network.
The user according to the present invention is subscriber of the GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communication service and the like.
The service provider according to the present invention is provider of the GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communication services and the like.
Advertisement stored in the MSC is transmitted to BSC via the existing channel. Normally 1 no MSC will support 16 BSC and 1 BSC will support 1024 TRU. Advertisement transmitted by MSC will be displayed in the MS at Cell Info Display field.
GSM Service Area is total area served by the combination of all member countries where a mobile can be served. PLMN Service Area is one N/W area. MSC Service Area is many MSC/VLR in one PLMN area and it is one Mobile Exchange Area. GMSC is all I/C calls for PLMIM N/W will be routed through GMSC. In a GSM / PLMN N / W all mobile terminated calls will be routed to a
Gateway MSC. Call connections between PLMNs , or to fixed NAA/s must be routed to a GMSC. The GMSC contains the Inter working functions to make these connections.
Location area is several LA in a MSC/VLR combination. A LA is a part of the MSCA/LR service area in which a MS may move freely without updating location information to the MSCA/LR exchange that control the LA. Within a LA a paging message is broadcast in order to find the called mobile subs. LA can be identified by system using the LAI. A cell is an identity served by one BTS. The MS distinguishes between cells using the BASE STATION IDENTIFICATION CODE (BSIC) that the cell site broadcast over the air. The mobile hand set is provided with GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service. Referring to Figure 1, the invention is a system and method for delivering advertisements or any commercial information to the subscriber in the location/geographical area through communication network. The said system comprising means for electronic data input, means for storing and means for retrieving the data of the advertisement in the electrical communication with the advertisement management server provided with application system integrated with software. Further the system comprising means for electronic data input, means for storing and means for retrieving the predetermined subscriber profile data pertaining to the subscriber corresponding to the unique subscriber identification code. The said server is connected to the mobile switching center through Internet protocol connection wherein the said mobile switching center is connected to base transceiver station through base station controller.
Referring to Figure 2, a system for providing a advertisement/ commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements/ commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber. The mobile handset is capable of initiating and receiving a call signal and GSM/wireless mobile location data included with the call signal. The signal and the mobile location data are extracted from the mobile communication and provided to an advertisement management system, the advertisement server provided with application system integrated with software then choose the advertisement/ commercial information from the plurality of pre-selected advertisement/ commercial information stored in the means. The advertisement/ commercial information is displayed in the handset of the subscriber wherein the display of such advertisement/ commercial information is utilized the place where cell information or GPS information or date, month, year information are displayed in the handset. The advertisement/ commercial information may be scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice.
Referring to Figure 3 illustrates the components of one embodiment of an environment in which the invention may be practiced. Not all the components may be required to practice the invention, and variations in the arrangement and type of the components may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. It also illustrates how different mobile/device users such as GSM/CDMA/3G/ EDGE connect through the service providers to the Network server via LAN, MAN, WAN with Database (Storage) which controls the other clients and information supplies to it.
Referring to Figure 4, shows one embodiment of mobile device that may be included in a system implementing the invention. Mobile device may include many more or less components. However, the components shown are sufficient to disclose an illustrative embodiment for practicing the present invention. Mobile device may represent, for example, mobile devices.
As shown in the figure, mobile device includes a processing unit (CPU) in communication with a mass memory via a bus. Mobile device also includes a power supply, one or more network interfaces , an audio interface , a display, a keypad, an illuminator, an input/output interface, and an optional global positioning systems (GPS) receiver. Power supply provides power to mobile device. A rechargeable or non-rechargeable battery may be used to provide power. The power may also be provided by an external power source, such as an AC adapter or a powered docking cradle that supplements and/or recharges a battery. Mobile device may optionally communicate with a base station (not shown), or directly with another computing device. Network interface includes circuitry for coupling mobile device to one or more networks, and is constructed for use with one or more communication protocols and technologies including, but not limited to, global system for mobile communication (GSM), code division multiple access (CDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA)7 user datagram protocol (ITDP), transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP), SMS, general packet radio service (GPRS), WAP, ultra wide band (UWB), IEEE 802.16 Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax), SIP/RTP, or any of a variety of other wireless communication protocols. Network interface is sometimes known as a transceiver, transceiving device, or network interface card (NIC). Audio interface is arranged to produce and receive audio signals such as the sound of a human voice. For example, audio interface may be coupled to a speaker and microphone (not shown) to enable telecommunication with others and/or generate an audio acknowledgement for some action. Display may be a liquid crystal display (LCD), gas plasma, light emitting diode (LED), or any other type of display used with a computing device. Display may also include a touch sensitive screen arranged to receive input from an object such as a stylus or a digit from a human hand.
Keypad may comprise any input device arranged to receive input from a user. For example, keypad may include a push button numeric dial, or a keyboard. Keypad may also include command buttons that are associated with selecting and sending images. Illuminator may provide a status indication and/or provide light. Illuminator may remain active for specific periods of time or in response to events. For example, when illuminator is active, it may backlight the buttons on keypad and stay on while the client device is powered. Also, illuminator may backlight these buttons in various patterns when particular actions are performed, such as dialing another client device. Mobile device also comprises input/output interface for communicating with external devices, such as a headset, or other input or output devices not shown in FIG. 2. Input/output interface can utilize one or more communication technologies, such as USB, infrared, Bluetooth™, WIFI or the like interface is arranged to provide tactile feedback to a user of the client device. For example, the haptic interface may be employed to vibrate mobile device in a particular way when another user of a computing device is calling.
Optional GPS transceiver can determine the physical coordinates of mobile device on the surface of the Earth, which typically outputs a location as latitude and longitude values. GPS transceiver can also employ other geo- positioning mechanisms, including, but not limited to, triangulation, assisted GPS (AGPS), E-OTD, CI, SAI, ETA, BSS or the like, to further determine the physical location of mobile device on the surface of the Earth. It is understood that under different conditions, GPS transceiver can determine a physical location within millimeters for mobile device; and in other cases, the determined physical location may be less precise, such as within a meter or significantly greater distances. In one embodiment, however, mobile device may through other components, provide other information that may be employed to determine a physical location of the device, including for example, a MAC address, IP address, or the like.
Mass memory includes a RAM , a ROM , and other storage means. Mass memory illustrates another example of computer storage media for storage of information such as computer readable instructions, data structures, program modules or other data. Mass memory stores a basic input/output system ("BIOS") for controlling low-level operation of mobile device. The mass memory also stores an operating system for controlling the operation of mobile device. It will be appreciated that this component may include a general purpose operating system such as a version of UNIX, or LINUX™, or a specialized client communication operating system such as Windows Mobile ™, or the Symbian®, MAC operating system, JAVA platform. The operating system may include, or interface with a Java virtual machine module that enables control of hardware components and/or operating system operations via Java application programs.
Memory further includes one or more data storage (optional), which can be utilized by mobile device to store, among other things, applications and/or other data. For example, data storage may also be employed to store information that describes various capabilities of mobile device. The information may then be provided to another device based on any of a variety of events, including being sent as part of a header during a communication, sent upon request, or the like. At least a portion of the capability information may also be stored on a disk drive or other storage medium (not shown) within mobile device.
Applications may include computer executable instructions which, when executed by mobile device, transmit, receive, and/or otherwise process messages (e.g., SMS, MMS, IM, email, and/or other messages), audio, video, and enable telecommunication with another user of another client device. Other examples of application programs include calendars, browsers, email clients, IM applications, SMS applications, VOIP applications, contact managers, task managers, transcoders, database programs, word processing programs, security applications, spreadsheet programs, games, search programs, and so forth. Applications may further include Our Application.
Our Application may be configured to determine a capability of mobile device for displaying navigable views of items that include advertisements. Then, in part, based on the determined capability, Our Application selects a navigable view mechanism for displaying the items. Thus, in one embodiment, Our Application may employ processes such as described below in conjunction with FIGS. 6-7 to perform at least some of its actions. However, the invention is not so constrained. For example, in one embodiment, a user of mobile device may also select a default navigable view mechanism. In another embodiment, Our Application may be configured to employ a default navigable view mechanism.
Referring Figure 5 illustrates one embodiment of a network device, according to one embodiment of the invention. Network device may include many more components than those shown. The components shown, however, are sufficient to disclose an illustrative embodiment for practicing the invention. Network device includes processing unit, video display adapter, and a mass memory, all in communication with each other via bus. The mass memory generally includes RAM, ROM, and one or more permanent mass storage devices, such as hard disk drive 3, and removable storage device that may represent a tape drive, optical drive, and/or floppy disk drive. The mass memory stores operating system for controlling the operation of network device. Any general-purpose operating system may be employed. Basic input/output system ("BIOS") is also provided for controlling the low-level operation of network device. As illustrated in FIG. 5, network device also can communicate with the Internet, or some other communications network, via network interface unit, which is constructed for use with various communication protocols including the TCP/IP protocol. Network interface unit is sometimes known as a transceiver, transceiving device, or network interface card (NIC).
The mass memory as described above illustrates another type of computer- readable media, namely computer storage media. Computer storage media may include volatile, nonvolatile, removable, and non-removable media implemented in any method or technology for storage of information, such as computer readable instructions, data structures, program modules, or other data. Examples of computer storage media include RAM, ROM, EEPROM, flash memory or other memory technology, CD-ROM, digital versatile disks (DVD) or other optical storage, magnetic cassettes, magnetic tape, magnetic disk storage or other magnetic storage devices, or any other medium which can be used to store the desired information and which can be accessed by a computing device.
The mass memory also stores program code and data. One or more applications are loaded into mass memory and run on operating system. Examples of application programs may include transcoders, schedulers, calendars, database programs, word processing programs, HTTP programs, customizable user interface programs, IPSec applications, encryption programs, security programs, VPN programs, SMS message servers, IM message servers, email servers, account management and so forth. Information Transaction Application (ITA) may also be included as an application program within applications.
ITA is configured to determine a capability of another computing device for displaying navigable views that may include an advertisement. In one embodiment, ITA may request information associated with the capability of the other computing device, during a communication with the other computing device.
ITA, may then, in one embodiment, based, in part, on the determined capability of the other computing device, select a navigable view mechanism for displaying items, including the advertisement at the other computing device. In one embodiment, ITA may interact with a content server, messaging server, or the like, to manage the navigable view. For example, in one embodiment, ITA may provide instructions, commands, applications, or the like, to the content server, messaging server, or the like, that may then be employed to manage the navigable view. In another embodiment, ITA may receive the items, including the advertisement, from the content server, messaging server, or the like, and then manage the view directly. However, the invention is not so constrained. For example, in another embodiment, ITA may send instructions, commands, applets, scripts, or the like, to the other computing device to enable it to display the items within the navigable view. In one embodiment, ITA employ processes such as described below in conjunction with FIGS. 6-9 to perform at least some of its actions.
However, the invention is not constrained to employing a capability of the other computing device. For example, in one embodiment, a user of the other computing device may select a mechanism for displaying the items with a navigable view, or the like.
Referring to Fig.6 illustrates the process of information transaction between the mobile/device and Network server. First it determines the capability of the client device /mobile and determines the view mechanism and then to enable the service it has to be enable the Area info options in the network settings.
Referring Fig.7 illustrates the process of information transaction between the mobile/device and Server. First it determines the capability of the client device /mobile and determines the view mechanism and in the menu it selects the view mode and then how it displays the information. It has two modes like in Application and on desktop. In on desktop again it can show like in Idle mode and screen saver mode. After this a selection menu is there where the items are categorized after selecting the wanted items; connection to server is established and then information is processed to the mobile device. And the processed information is shown in exact selected mode of view. Referring to Figure 8 & 9, a method for providing a advertisement and commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM and CDMA comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements/ commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber. The mobile handset is capable of initiating and receiving a call signal and GSM/wireless mobile location data included with the call signal. The signal and the mobile location data are extracted from the mobile communication and provided to an advertisement management system, the advertisement server then choose the advertisement and commercial information from the plurality of preselected advertisement and commercial information stored in the means. The advertisement and commercial information is displayed in the handset of the subscriber wherein the display of such advertisement and commercial information is utilized the place where cell information or GPS information or date, month, year information are displayed in the handset. The advertisement and commercial information may be scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice.
Referring Figure 10 illustrates of the present invention indicates the advertisements and/or any commercial information to the subscriber in the network covering area of the communication network. The marked portion in the figure indicates the network covering area of MSC service area of the communication network. It may be extended to GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS.
The messages are chosen from a database of pre-selected advertisements and/or commercial information and are delivered to the subscriber of the GSM/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of GSM/wireless Mobile Location Data included with the call signal. The messages are further targeted to the subscriber of the GSM/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of predetermined Subscriber Profile Data pertaining to the subscriber and stored in an electronic database. Based on the information stored in the storing means under different category such as age, hobby, travel, food or any other information the targeting category is selected or given by the advertiser/sponsor is selected to target/send advertisements or commercial information
The messages are further targeted to the subscriber of the GSM/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of the existing subscriber data and periodical new subscriber stored in an electronic database. The target group is selected from the storing means of the server under different category such as age, hobby, travel, food or any other information and the new user also segregated under the said categories and sorted in the storing means or given by the advertiser/sponsor to target/send advertisements or commercial information.
The targeted advertisement/commercial information includes electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof which are pre-selected and stored in a electronic data input, storage and retrieval device. The messages to be targeted to the subscriber are chosen from the preselected messages, in a manner to be described hereinafter, at the time that a GSM/wireless mobile communication is initiated or received by a GSM/wireless mobile terminal.
The Subscriber Identification Code is allotted to the subscriber's handset, or to a specific subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service using a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) or Smart Card which can be used in any GSM/wireless mobile terminal having the capability to accept a SIM or Smart Card, thereby allowing any such terminal to be identified with the subscriber associated with the SIM or Smart Card. The messages are targeted to those who are the subscriber of the GSM/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of the existing subscriber data and periodical new subscriber stored in an electronic database. The advertisement/ commercial information is provided to a subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM and CDMA.
The Subscriber Identification Code is used to identify predetermined Subscriber Profile Data pertaining to the subscriber and stored in an electronic database. The Subscriber Profile Data includes personal preference data pertaining to the subscriber, which is collected from the subscriber at the time the subscriber registers with the operator of the GSM/wireless mobile communications service, stored in a conventional electronic data input, storage and retrieval device and updated at regular intervals. The personal data of the subscriber includes general information relating to the individual preferences such as preferred types of food, entertainment and any hobbies or interests of the subscriber.
The system for providing advertisement/ commercial information to the subscriber comprising means for electronic data input, storage and retrieval in electrical communication with the advertisement management server. The targeted advertisement/commercial information includes electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof. The advertisement/commercial information is predetermined and programmed to display in the handset of the subscriber. According to the predetermined programme, the server chooses the messages to be provided to the subscriber and pass the information to the mobile switching center through Internet protocol connection.
The system is associated with the base station controller through mobile switching center, which is connected with the base transceiver station and in communication with the advertisement management system and a Local Landline Network wherein the base station controller may be in radio frequency communication with the advertisement management system and controls two or more base transceiver stations as the subscriber moves from an area serviced by one base transceiver station to an area serviced by another base transceiver station. The said server of the advertisement management system operates in the same manner to choose the advertisements/commercial information to be targeted to the subscriber on the basis of the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS.
The displayed advertisement/commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details displayed in the mobile hand set using GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service is stored in the said mobile hand set can be retrieved for further use can be stored, a key is assigned or any other option is provided in the key panel of the said mobile hand set.
According to one aspect of present invention to provide stock market information in the menu of the mobile hand set. The subscriber access the Nifty or Sensex using the said option provided by sending message to the server wherein the said server provide connectivity to access the said stock market information continuously displayed in mobile hand set using GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service of the subscriber as crawler. This information will be available during market hours.
A Local Directory providing system comprising business, service or any other information including address, contact details in the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS. To maintain the compatibility of the advertisement management server with the MSC, the operating system of the server can be changed to the operating system of the MSC, precisely the operating system of both MSC and advertisement management server is same. The operating system utilized for the present invention is such as windows, linux or any other operating system.
Figure 11, illustrates Type 1 and 2 Advertising are considered fully Proactive or Automatic, self-activated upon start up of Mobile Phones, and appear full time unless Mobile Phone user is trying to make a phone call or receive a phone call or select the mobile phone's own menu; where in type 1 is Banner-type Ad - scrolls from right to left, where the timing / pace for scrolling can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software as required; type 2 is Force-Feed -type Ad (Flash Files & Static) - appears on screen once the mobile phone is switch on, and the display timing / pace can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software as required.
Figure 12, illustrates Type 3 Advertising are considered Semi- Proactive or Automatic, self-activated upon start up of a selected information menu display, e.g. the cricket news.... And Type 4 Advertising are considered Reactive or User initiated, activated upon selection of Mobile Phone user to access the Classified Ads Section in the menu; wherein type 3 is Normal Ad (Flash Files & Static) - appears on screen once the mobile phone user goes to select information type from the menu, and the display timing / pace can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software as required; Type 4 is Classified Ad (Flash Files & Static) - appears on screen once the mobile phone user goes to select 'Classified Ads' section from the menu, and the display timing / pace for scrolling can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software or mobile phone user as required.
Another embodiment of the present invention to provide the user to select the phone number displayed in the Ticker, Advertisement, commercial information and so on; wherein the selected phone numbers can be used to dial directly to get a link to the said sponser/provider of the advertisement and commercial information.
The system according to the present invention the stock market information service, News, Sports and any other information is provided in the Ticker of the application system integrated with software of the mobile hand set; the subscriber access the Stock market rates of different stocks, News, Sports etc using the said option provided by sending communication link to the server wherein the said server provide connectivity to access the said stock market information, News, sports etc continuously to display in mobile hand set using GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE or any other communication service of the subscriber as scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice. Accordingly a system for delivering advertisements and/or any commercial information to the subscriber in the location/geographical area through communication network comprising; means for electronic data input, means for storing and means for retrieving the data of the advertisement in the electrical communication with the advertisement management server provided with application system integrated with software wherein means for retrieving the predetermined subscriber profile data pertaining to the subscriber corresponding to the unique subscriber identification code and the said server is connected to the mobile switching center through Internet protocol connection wherein the said mobile switching center is connected to base transceiver station through base station controller; further application system integrated with software with the user that sends a communication link, receiving the data, storing, processing and displaying the information with or without voice and advertisement to the users of mobile phones.
Accordingly a method for providing an advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements and/or commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber; the mobile handset is provided with application system integrated with software with the user that sends a communication link, receiving the data, storing, processing and displaying the information with or without voice and connected to an advertisement management system wherein the said advertisement management system comprising server provided with application system integrated with software, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement and/or commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means; the said server select the advertisement and/or commercial information from the plurality of pre-selected advertisement and commercial information stored in the means and communicate to the mobile hand set through communication net work; the advertisement and/or commercial information is displayed in the handset of the subscriber; the advertisement and/or commercial information is scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice.
Though the present invention was shown and described with references to the preferred embodiments, such are merely illustrative of the present invention and are not to be construed as a limitation thereof and various modifications of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art. It is therefore not intended that the present invention be limited to the disclosed embodiments or details thereof, and the present invention includes all variations and/or alternative embodiments within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.

Claims

I claim:
1. A system for delivering advertisements and/or any commercial information to the subscriber in the location/geographical area through communication network comprising; means for electronic data input, means for storing and means for retrieving the data of the advertisement and information through the communication network with the advertisement management server provided with application system integrated with software wherein means for retrieving the predetermined subscriber profile data pertaining to the subscriber corresponding to the unique subscriber identification code and the said server is connected to the mobile switching center through Internet protocol connection wherein the said mobile switching center is connected to base transceiver station through base station controller; further application system integrated with software with the user that sends a communication link, receiving the data, storing, processing and displaying the information with or without voice and advertisement to the users of mobile phones.

A system for providing a advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements and/or commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber wherein the mobile handset is capable of initiating and receiving a call signal and GSM/wireless mobile location data included with the call signal; the signal and the mobile location data are extracted from the mobile communication and provided to an advertisement management system; the advertisement server choose the advertisement and/or commercial information from the plurality of pre-selected advertisement and/or commercial information in the storing means; the advertisement and/or commercial information is displayed in the handset of the subscriber wherein the display of such advertisement and/or commercial information is utilized the place where cell information or GPS information or date, month, year information or full display are displayed in the handset; the said advertisement and/or commercial information is scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice.

The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the messages are chosen from a database of pre-selected advertisements and/or commercial information and are delivered to the subscriber of the GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE /wireless mobile communications service on the basis of GSM/ CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless Mobile Location Data included with the call signal.

The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the messages are targeted to the subscriber of the GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of predetermined Subscriber Profile Data pertaining to the subscriber which is stored in the electronic database provided with access the user to stock market such as Sensex, Nifty, NYSE and the like, news, sports, currency, online movie and music downloading

The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein based on the information stored in the storing means under different category such as age, hobby, travel, food or any other information the targeting category is selected or given by the advertiser/sponsor is selected to target/send advertisements and/or commercial information.
6. The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the messages are targeted to the subscriber of the GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of the existing subscriber data and periodical new subscriber stored in an electronic database.
7. The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the target group is selected from the storing means of the server under different category such as age, hobby, travel, food or any other information and the new user also segregated under the said categories and sorted in the storing means or given by the advertiser/sponsor to target/send advertisements or commercial information.
8. The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the targeted advertisement/commercial information includes electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof which are pre-selected and stored in a electronic data input, storage and retrieval device with or without voice.
9. The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the messages to be targeted to the subscriber are chosen from the pre-selected messages, at the time that a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communication is initiated or received by a GSM/ GDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile terminal. lO.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the Subscriber Identification Code is allotted to the subscriber's handset, or to a specific subscriber of a GSM/wireless mobile communications service using a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) or Smart Card which can be used in any GSM/wireless mobile terminal having the capability to accept a SIM or Smart Card, thereby allowing any such terminal to be identified with the subscriber associated with the SIM or Smart Card. ll.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the advertisement/ commercial information is provided to a subscriber of a GSM/ CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM and CDMA.
12.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the Subscriber Identification Code is used to identify predetermined Subscriber Profile Data pertaining to the subscriber and stored in an electronic database; the Subscriber Profile Data includes personal preference data pertaining to the subscriber, which is collected from the subscriber at the time the subscriber registers with the operator of the GSM/ CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service, stored in a conventional electronic data input, storage and retrieval device and updated at regular intervals and the said personal data of the subscriber includes general information relating to the individual preferences such as preferred types of food, entertainment and any hobbies or interests of the subscriber.
13.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the advertisement and/or commercial information is predetermined and programmed in the server provided with an application system integrated with software chooses the messages to be provided to the subscriber and pass the information to display in the handset of the subscriber.
14.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the system is associated with the base station controller through mobile switching center, which is connected with the base transceiver station and in communication with the advertisement management system and a Local Landline Network wherein the base station controller may be in radio frequency communication with the advertisement management system and controls two or more base transceiver stations as the subscriber moves from an area serviced by one base transceiver station to an area serviced by another base transceiver station and' the said server of the advertisement management system operates in the same manner to choose the advertisements/commercial information to be targeted to the subscriber on the basis of the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS.
15.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein a key is assigned or any other option is provided in the key panel of the said mobile hand set to store the displayed advertisement and/or commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details of the GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service and the stored information can be retrieved for further use.
16.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the stock market information service is provided in the Ticker of the application system integrated with software of the mobile hand set; the subscriber access the Stock market rates of different stocks using the said option provided by sending communication link to the server wherein the said server provide connectivity to access the said stock market information continuously displayed in mobile hand set using GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service of the subscriber as crawler, more particularly preferred stocks.
17.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein a Local Directory system is provided in the storing means of the server comprising business, service or any other information including address, contact details in the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS. lδ.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the subscriber access the said local directory using the option 'Local Directory1 that is provided in the menu of the mobile handset using GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service and the said directory is further having many more field and options related to business, service or any other information including address, contact details in the GSM service area/ PLMN service area/ MSC service area/ location area/ cell area served by BTS. lθ.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the Local Directory stored in the server is accessed by the subscriber sending a message to the said server from the mobile handset using GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE service; depend upon the option selected from the menu or submenu of the said local directory the information displayed continuously as crawler or packets.
2O.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein along with the advertisement and/or commercial information, important and very useful information such as local police station, hospitals, railway enquiry, fire service, bank, college, school, government establishments, ambulance or any other information with address and phone numbers either automatically or on the request of the subscriber.

The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the advertisement management system comprising the server provided with application system integrated with software, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement and/or commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means.
22.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the application system integrated with software communicate with the server, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement and/or commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means and the said advertisement and/or commercial information retrieve from any other source.
23.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the server is connected with any other local server and/or remote server through the communication network to receive further advertisement and commercial information.
24.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the information displayed in the mobile hand set can be allowed or disallowed by the subscriber using the option 'Subscribe or Unsubscribe' and On or Off' provided in the menu of said mobile hand set temporarily or permanently.
25.The system claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the user to select the phone number displayed in the Ticker, Advertisement, commercial information and so on; wherein the selected phone numbers can be used to dial directly to get a link to the said sponser/provider of the advertisement and commercial information.
26.A method for providing a advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements and/or commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber; the mobile handset is capable of initiating and receiving a call signal and GSM/wireless mobile location data included with the call signal; the signal and the mobile location data are extracted from the mobile communication and provided to an advertisement management system wherein the said advertisement management system comprising server provided with application system integrated with software, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement/commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means; the said server select the advertisement and/or commercial information from the plurality of pre-selected advertisement and commercial information stored in the means and communicate to the mobile hand set through MSC and communication net work; the advertisement/ commercial information is displayed in the handset of the subscriber wherein the display of such advertisement/ commercial information is utilized the place where cell information or GPS information or date, month, year information are displayed in the handset; the advertisement/ commercial information may be scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice.
27.A method for providing a advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service comprising means to store the data of a plurality of pre-selected advertisements and/or commercial information and means to have the database of predetermined criteria for choosing the messages to be provided to the subscriber; the mobile handset is provided with application system integrated with software with the user that sends a communication link, receiving the data, storing, processing and displaying the information with or without voice and connected to an advertisement management system wherein the said advertisement management system comprising server provided with application system integrated with software, subscriber profile data, predetermined Subscriber Profile Data, the advertisement and/or commercial information such as electronic data, text, symbol, special characters, images, alpha numeric or combination thereof, particularly phone numbers or any other details stored in the storing means; the said server select the advertisement and/or commercial information from the plurality of pre-selected advertisement and commercial information stored in the means and communicate to the mobile hand set through communication net work; the advertisement and/or commercial information is displayed in the handset of the subscriber; the advertisement and/or commercial information is scroll intermittently or scroll continuously or flash or crawler or combination thereof or any other suitable method display with or without voice.
28.A method for providing a advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the advertisements are classified as Type 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on.

A method for providing a advertisement and/or commercial information as claimed in claim 28, wherein type 1 is Banner-type Ad - scrolls from right to left, where the timing / pace for scrolling can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software as required; type 2 is Force-Feed-type Ad (Flash Files & Static) - appears on screen once the mobile phone is switch on, and the display timing / pace can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software as required; type 3 is Normal Ad (Flash Files &. Static) - appears on screen once the mobile phone user goes to select information type from the menu, and the display timing / pace can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software as required; Type 4 is Classified Ad (Flash Files & Static) - appears on screen once the mobile phone user goes to select 'Classified Ads' section from the menu, and the display timing / pace for scrolling can be determined and change by the application system integrated with software or mobile phone user as required.

A method for providing a advertisement and/or commercial information as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the user to select the phone number displayed in the Ticker, Advertisement, commercial information and so on; wherein the selected phone numbers can be used to dial directly to get a link to the said sponser/provider of the advertisement and commercial information.

A system for providing an advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM /CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications such as herein described and exemplified.
32.A method for providing an advertisement and/or commercial information to a subscriber of a GSM/CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications service targeted to the subscriber on the basis of network of the mobile service GSM /CDMA/3G/EDGE/wireless mobile communications such as herein described and exemplified.
