Abstract

The present application relates to embodiments of fluidic devices having a pressure-balancing fluidic network designed for positioning an aliquot of liquid in the fluidic network. In various embodiments of a pressure-balancing fluidic device, a fluidic network may be designed so that filing the fluidic network includes loading an aliquot of a fluid through an inlet under an applied pressure, and positioning the aliquot of fluid in the fluidic network using the equalizing forces of the gas pressure in a pressure-compensating portion of the fluidic network and the fluid pressure at the inlet.
